Young people from Augusta are already making their voices heard🇺🇸

Teen Club Members from Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Augusta recently traveled to Washington, D.C. for the Summit for America’s Youth, where they met with Georgia leaders and advocated for the needs of young people in our community.

We’re proud to have organizations like Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Augusta at The HUB, creating opportunities for young people to build confidence, find their voice, and take an active role in shaping the future of Augusta.

A strong start to the school year starts with a strong community behind it🎒

With 1,000+ book bags, 500 books distributed, and 1,200 meals served, the Back-to-School Celebration was about more than school supplies. Families also had access to health screenings, school information, games, and community resources—all in one place.

We’re grateful to everyone who donated, volunteered, partnered, and helped make this day possible. Because of this community, more than 1,000 students are heading into the school year with the supplies, resources, and support they need to start strong.

The Garden Gala was more than an evening of celebration; it was a reflection of what’s possible when a community comes together around a shared commitment to health, connection, and impact.

This year’s Gala honored the vision and foundational community health work of Dr. Monte Hunter, whose leadership helped lay the groundwork for stronger connections between healthcare providers, community organizations, schools, and the people we serve.

We’re grateful for the Richmond County School System and athletic trainers serving students across our schools, our partners at Augusta University’s Department of Family and Community Medicine, Wellstar physicians, nurses, and technicians, and the community members and HUB staff who continue to pour their time, expertise, and passion into this work.

Together, we’re building stronger healthcare connections and a healthier Augusta; one partnership at a time.

Thank you to everyone who continues to show up, serve, collaborate, and believe in what’s possible. This is community health in action. This is the HUB.

As August arrives, we celebrate the sweet transition from carefree summer days to the excitement of a new school year. Russell Hoban’s Summer Goes captures the memories of sandy toes, frogs by the pond, postcards, and adventures that fill our hearts before the school bus arrives once again. May this poem inspire families to treasure their summer memories while looking ahead with curiosity, confidence, and excitement for all the learning the new school year will bring.
