On February 3rd, a group of students representing different organizations within the Auburn School District, led by JROTC students, attended a meeting with the Governor of Washington. The group included seniors, juniors, sophomores, and freshmen.
The purpose of the meeting was to honor the support of our local government by presenting the Governor with a gift and discussing important topics such as funding, especially for our CTE and Microsoft programs, school safety, and how state government can help student-led organizations grow within our district and across the state.
The Governor was very pleased to meet the students, encouraged them to continue their good work, and expressed his appreciation.
After the meeting, the students met with local police chiefs and sheriffs to thank them for keeping our community safe. They also visited the state senate and house chambers.
We appreciate the hard work of our student leaders. They are truly an inspiration to the student body, and we will continue striving to improve and grow.
