Auburn Noon Lions is a service organization that includes Auburn, Algona, Pacific and Lake Tapps. Lions make strong commitments to our community.

The Auburn Noon Lions serve the communities of Algona, Auburn, Pacific and Lake Tapps. Lions have aided the blind and visually impaired since Helen Keller asked the Lions to be champions for the blind. Auburn Noon Lions provides provides needy qualified community members with eyeglasses, vision surgeries, and hearing care in co-operation with Auburn's Community Christ Free Clinic. We hold an annual "White Canes Day" fundraiser for this purpose. We collect new and used eyeglasses for recycling in other nations. We founded and still sponsor the Auburn Veterans Day Parade and luncheon. We support the Miss Auburn Scholarship program. We support diabetes education and awareness, conduct Health Fairs and health screenings. We serve youth with events including a Special Needs Youth Fishing Derby, and an Easter Egg Hunt. We pack food at the local food bank for weekend nutrition support of school children. We run a "Student of the Month" recognition program for Auburn students. We also award scholarships to students at each high school. We provide Christmas food and gifts for some needy local school families. These are just a few of our service opportunities. We have fun giving and doing. Join us and see for yourself.

When we get together we share what we do.

Last night our club hosted a Zone Meeting. Clubs are organized into zones of ten to twelve clubs, then districts, multiple districts and nation and international.

In the picture on the right is our Zone Chair, Leanne Guier, to her left Auburn Club President Candee Smith and to the right Secretary Gloria Taylor. We also had a Speaker Rayanna Miller representing Sister Cities.

A Zone Meeting is a dinner meeting paid for by each individual. It is also that opportunity to hear how other clubs in the Zone help their communities and perhaps come up with new ideas.

If you are recently retired, a new empty nester or feeling the need to give back to community please do contact us. Right now we are working on Christmas Families. People in our community trying hard but could use a little help at Christmas, especially for their children.

Right after that is the Veterans Parade we founded in 1964 and turned over to the city in the nineties. You will see us all in the parade as we are the Drivers!

Next year you’ll find us working on some park projects, collecting and sending used eyeglasses to our Lion Recycling Center in Tumwater to be given to those in need. We also support the Christ Community Free Clinic who works with us for those needing glasses. In the summer we will be working on improvements for Camp Leo, a summer camp for children with diabetes. Yes, we still do the free Easter Egg Hunt at Les Gove Park started in 1946 and White Cane Days to collect even more eyeglasses.

Tonight we were honored with a visit by Lions 1st Vice District Governor June Ferreira.she is shown here on the left next to Club President Candee Smith and she was introduced by Zone Chair and Auburn Member Leanne Guier.

Our Auburn Lions Club works to help others but sometimes we just want to be together. So every month with a fifth Tuesday we gather at a restaurant just to be together and relax.

This Tuesday we went to IHOP at the Mall. We talked and laughed and had a meal together.

This is a great group of people. We hope one day you will want to give back to community and come and join us.

You have worked much of your life. You are not old but now you see all the need out there and want to find a way to give back. Come to the Lions. You aren’t alone. We all feel the need and we work together to help others.

Want to work on scholarships for young people. Join us. Want a way to use your skills to build and rebuild in your community. Join us. Do you feel the need to help others in need. Come join the Lions. We will have a place for you and you will find friends with us.
