Auburn Noon Lions

Auburn Noon Lions Auburn Noon Lions is a service organization that includes Auburn, Algona, Pacific and Lake Tapps. Lions make strong commitments to our community.

The Auburn Noon Lions serve the communities of Algona, Auburn, Pacific and Lake Tapps. Lions have aided the blind and visually impaired since Helen Keller asked the Lions to be champions for the blind. Auburn Noon Lions provides provides needy qualified community members with eyeglasses, vision surgeries, and hearing care in co-operation with Auburn's Community Christ Free Clinic. We hold an an

nual "White Canes Day" fundraiser for this purpose. We collect new and used eyeglasses for recycling in other nations. We founded and still sponsor the Auburn Veterans Day Parade and luncheon. We support the Miss Auburn Scholarship program. We support diabetes education and awareness, conduct Health Fairs and health screenings. We serve youth with events including a Special Needs Youth Fishing Derby, and an Easter Egg Hunt. We pack food at the local food bank for weekend nutrition support of school children. We run a "Student of the Month" recognition program for Auburn students. We also award scholarships to students at each high school. We provide Christmas food and gifts for some needy local school families. These are just a few of our service opportunities. We have fun giving and doing. Join us and see for yourself.

Lions on the move.

This weekend the Auburn Lions were at Emerald Downs. Those cheerful bag checkers you saw there were all members of the Club.

With Lions, All monies raised in the community must be returned to the community. There’s no administrative fees or costs it all goes back into the communities we serve.

So for a few months each year the Club contracts with Emerald Downs for specific tasks with the fee for service going to the Club so we can buy things like paper, stamps and even the cost of a post office box.

It’s not a lot but it pays for the cost of the club and members get to be outside and meet a lot of smiling people.

Lions on the move!

Tonight there was two full tables of Lions at the Auburn Christ Community Free Clinic including Zone Chair Leanne Guier (Past mayor of Pacific) and Club President Troy Linnell (mayor of Algona).

This free clinic that has only one paid employee cares for those in need of medical, dental, sight and hearing for all the communities we serve.

We were pleased to see Auburn Nancy Backus, Council-members Cheryl Rakes, Brian Lott and Clinton Taylor all there to support such need.
