💜 International Overdose Awareness Day 💜
Behind every overdose statistic is a person. A life. A story. Someone deeply loved and deeply missed.
Today, we remember them.
We remember the sons and daughters, mothers and fathers, sisters and brothers, friends and loved ones whose lives were lost to overdose.
We remember the families who carry their absence every single day.
Today is also a reminder that overdose can touch anyone. While many overdose deaths are connected to substance use and addiction, others happen unexpectedly or accidentally. No matter the circumstances, every life lost matters, and every family left grieving deserves compassion. May we continue to talk openly about overdose and addiction, fight the stigma surrounding them, and make sure people know that asking for help is never something to be ashamed of.
For those grieving someone they love, today we honor their life, their story, and their memory.
And today, we encourage everyone to carry naloxone. You never know when you may have the opportunity to save a life.
Every life has value. Every story matters. And no one should have to fight alone.
💜 In remembrance. In hope. In love.
