💜 International Overdose Awareness Day 💜

Behind every overdose statistic is a person. A life. A story. Someone deeply loved and deeply missed.

Today, we remember them.

We remember the sons and daughters, mothers and fathers, sisters and brothers, friends and loved ones whose lives were lost to overdose.

We remember the families who carry their absence every single day.

Today is also a reminder that overdose can touch anyone. While many overdose deaths are connected to substance use and addiction, others happen unexpectedly or accidentally. No matter the circumstances, every life lost matters, and every family left grieving deserves compassion. May we continue to talk openly about overdose and addiction, fight the stigma surrounding them, and make sure people know that asking for help is never something to be ashamed of.

For those grieving someone they love, today we honor their life, their story, and their memory.

And today, we encourage everyone to carry naloxone. You never know when you may have the opportunity to save a life.

Every life has value. Every story matters. And no one should have to fight alone.

💜 In remembrance. In hope. In love.

Another milestone worth celebrating! 🎉❤️

Please help us congratulate Tammy on officially completing the Hearten House Aftercare Program!

There is something incredibly special about watching a woman walk through the doors of Hearten House, do the hard work of recovery, graduate from our residential program, step out on her own, and continue moving forward.

Aftercare gives our graduates a season of continued support as they learn to navigate life independently while staying connected to the community and relationships they built at Hearten House. Completing Aftercare represents another beautiful step forward.

Tammy, we are so proud of you! Your journey is a reminder that recovery is built one day, one decision, and one faithful step at a time.

We have loved being part of your journey, and we are excited to watch you continue to grow into all that God has for you.

Congratulations, Tammy! You did it!

A huge thank you to Dayspring Community Church for inviting Hearten House to be part of their Ministry Partner Night! 💚

We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to share more about the mission of Hearten House, connect with new members, and talk about the work God is doing in the lives of the women we serve.

Dayspring has been such a faithful supporter and ministry partner, and we are so thankful for the many ways they continue to come alongside Hearten House through prayer, encouragement, generosity, and genuine relationship.

We are blessed to have churches like Dayspring who believe in our mission and help us continue providing hope, healing, and a Christ-centered path to recovery for women in our community.

Thank you, Dayspring, for continuing to walk alongside us! 💚🏠✝️

SPONSOR SPOTLIGHT: DAL’S BIG HANDS BIG HEART

We are incredibly grateful to Dal’s Big Hands Big Heart Memorial Foundation for generously sponsoring the recovery T-shirts for our 2026 Set Free Summer Shindig!

One of the things that is so important to us about the Shindig is keeping the entire event FREE for our community, and that includes our recovery T-shirts.

These shirts are more than just something to wear. Each one gives the person wearing it the opportunity to add their own recovery date. Whether that date represents one day, one year, ten years, or more, every day of recovery is something worth celebrating.

Because of the generosity of Dal’s Big Hands Big Heart Memorial Foundation, every adult who attends will have the opportunity to receive a recovery T-shirt at no cost. We want cost to never be a barrier to being part of this celebration of recovery, hope, and community.

Dal’s Big Hands Big Heart was created in memory of Dallas and has continued his legacy by giving back to local programs, projects, families, and communities. We are incredibly honored that Hearten House is one of the causes they have chosen to support.

Now we have an opportunity to support them, too!

Dal’s Big Hands Big Heart is hosting Grown in the USA, September 4–6 at Sylvan Cellars in Rome City. The weekend includes a VIP experience Friday, an incredible Saturday night concert featuring Randy Houser, 49 Wi******er, Drake White, Jordan Dane Johnson, Hubie Ashcraft and Missy Burgess, followed by worship Sunday morning with Drake White and Charles Billingsley and a message from Brady Hill.

If you’re looking for something to do Labor Day weekend, grab your tickets and come out to support a foundation that gives so generously to our community!

Help us give a big shout out to Shaylee for successfully completing the Hearten House Aftercare Program! 🎉

At Hearten House, graduation from our 9 to 12 month residential program isn’t the end of the journey. It’s the beginning of a whole new season.

Our Aftercare Program is designed to continue walking alongside our graduates as they transition into independent living. This new season can bring exciting opportunities, but also new responsibilities and challenges. Our Aftercare Coordinator provides continued encouragement, accountability, support, and connection as each woman navigates life outside of Hearten House.

Shaylee, we are so proud of how far you’ve come and all that you continue to accomplish. It has been a blessing to walk alongside you through each season.

Help us congratulate Shaylee on this incredible milestone and cheer her on as she steps into her next chapter!

Sometimes you just need an ice cream break! 🍦

Our Hearten House ladies took a little time out to enjoy some Dairy Freeze, sunshine, laughter, and time together.

Recovery is about so much more than the hard work. It’s also about learning to enjoy the simple moments, build healthy relationships, and have a little fun along the way.

We’re grateful for sweet treats and even sweeter moments together

🎓 Congratulations, Tayshawna! 🎓

We are so excited to celebrate Tayshawna, who recently graduated from the Hearten House program! She has worked hard, grown tremendously, and is now stepping into the next chapter of her life with 2 years of sobriety.

We wanted to share her own words about her journey:

“Before I got to Hearten House, my life was destructive chaos. Between the drugs and the crowd I was hanging out with, it was a bad life for me. While at Hearten House, I learned I was worthy of boundaries and that God loves me and has been there with me even when I didn’t know it. Now I am 2 years sober, getting ready to move to my next chapter in my life, and put all the effort I put into this program into my next phase of my life.”

Tayshawna, we are so proud of you and all the work you have put into building a new life. It has been a blessing to walk alongside you, and we are excited to see what God has in store for you in this next chapter.

Congratulations, Tayshawna! We love you and will always be cheering you on!

~ Staff Spotlight: Meet Terri~

At Hearten House, our staff members are so much more than employees. They are women who show up each day ready to serve, encourage, love, and walk alongside the women God has entrusted to our care.

This week, we’re honored to highlight Terri and share what being part of Hearten House means to her:

“Working at the Hearten House means more to me than words could ever truly express. It is such an incredible honor and blessing to come alongside women who are hurting, broken, and searching for hope, and to have the opportunity to show them the love, grace, and healing power of Jesus.

I believe every woman has a story, and I feel so humbled and blessed that God has chosen me to play even a small part in theirs. To walk beside them, listen to their stories, encourage their hearts, and remind them that they are loved, valued, and never alone is something I will never take for granted.

I have never worked anywhere that is filled with so much genuine love, grace, compassion, and hope. You can truly feel Jesus the moment you walk through the doors. There is something so special about this place, it feels like a safe haven where hurting hearts can begin to heal and broken pieces can begin to come back together.

I am beyond thankful that God has allowed me to be a part of this beautiful ministry. It is so much more than a job to me; it is a calling, a blessing, and a privilege. My heart is full knowing that I get to share the love of Jesus with others and be a small part of what He is doing in their lives.

I am so incredibly grateful to be a part of the Hearten House family.”

— Terri ❤️

We are incredibly grateful for Terri and the heart she brings to Hearten House. Her compassion, faith, and willingness to serve are a beautiful reflection of what our mission is all about: Empowering Women through a Christ-Centered Sanctuary.

🥧🥧Homemade with love and for a purpose! 🥧🥧

We have been busy in the kitchen making homemade pies and other delicious baked goods for our upcoming Set Free Summer Shindig! And, of course, our wonderful volunteer Miss Patsy is right there baking alongside us.

The Set Free Summer Shindig is completely FREE to our community, but we’ll be having a Bake Sale featuring homemade goodies made by our women and Miss Patsy.

Every purchase has a purpose. All proceeds from the Bake Sale will help offset the costs associated with welcoming a new woman into Hearten House. We do not charge an entrance or intake fee to enter our program because we never want finances to stand in the way of a woman getting the help she needs.

So come hungry, enjoy a FREE evening with us, and take home something sweet while supporting the women of Hearten House!
