Mission: The Atlanta Blues Society

The Atlanta Blues Society is an all volunteer member organization dedicated to the Education and preservation of the uniquely American art form known traditionally as the blues. We are comprised of a rich mixture of culturally diverse people brought together through our common appreciation of the heritage and history of the Blues. The ABS was incorporated as a Georgia Corporation and was granted 501 (c) 3 status by the Internal Revenue Service on November 29, 2001. Since our inception in 1995 we have known that education bridges the gap between generations and links the future to the past; that the one be not forgotten and the other not neglected. From its roots in the field "hollars" of slavery, to gospel, through the roaring 20s, the jazz age, country, to the birth of rock and roll, the Blues has touched American music and us all.

REMINDER that the next Atlanta Blues Society, ABS October 2026 Gathering & Jam is happening next Sunday, October 18, 2026, 3pm-6pm at Blind Willie's Blues Club with our host band Little Becky and the Big Shots!

We’re thrilled to gather at the legendary Blind Willie’s—one of the country’s premier blues clubs—as our host venue for the October Gathering & Jam!

Little Becky & the Big Shots are an elite group of multi-instrumentalists who blur the lines between genres, delivering a unique musical experience that spans blues, rock, R&B, funk, roots, metal, country, authentic covers, and original music.

We will have a jam, so bring your instruments and voices and show us what you've got. We will be raffling off prizes of Cathead Vodka, CD Packages, and other surprises. Proceeds of the raffle go toward our Blue Flame Fund to help local musicians in need.

This event is free, open to the public +21, and smoke-free.

This event is sponsored by Cathead Vodka
