💙 Thank you to the Rotary Club of Henry County for the opportunity to speak at today’s meeting and share the mission and impact of A Friend’s House.

It was a privilege to talk about the youth we serve, the challenges they face, and the hope, stability, and support they find through our programs. From emergency shelter and counseling services to educational support, life skills training, and our POP (Phases of Progress) Closet, every day we are working to help young people build brighter futures.

I am grateful for organizations like Rotary that believe in strengthening our community and investing in the lives of others. Thank you for your continued commitment to service and for allowing me to share how A Friend’s House is making a difference for youth across Georgia.

We appreciate your support and look forward to building even more community partnerships that help ensure every child has a safe, caring place to call home. 💙

🐴💙 A Very Special Visitor at A Friends House! 💙🐴

There’s just something magical about the healing power of animals.

Today, our youth were surprised with a visit from Big Mama, a beautiful horse with a gentle spirit and a heart as big as her name. From smiles and laughter to quiet moments of connection, Big Mama brought so much joy to our campus.

For many of our kids, opportunities like this create lasting memories and provide a chance to slow down, connect, and simply enjoy being a kid. Sometimes the best therapy comes with four legs, a soft nose, and a lot of love.

Ahoy mateys! 🏴‍☠️💙

Our community really “came aboard” for one of our amazing youth after she reached one of her personal weight-loss goals — and thanks to your generosity, she was able to celebrate with a swashbuckling day at the Renaissance Festival on Pirate Day!

Because of your support, she even got to bring a fellow matey along for the adventure. From pirate sightings and laughter to tasty treats and unforgettable memories, these girls had a treasure-filled day from start to finish!

At A Friend’s House, we believe accomplishments deserve to be celebrated, confidence deserves to be built up, and our youth deserve opportunities to simply be kids and enjoy life’s adventures.

Thank you for helping us “raise the sails” for our youth and reminding them they have a whole crew cheering them on every step of the way 💙⚓️

Ye truly are the best treasure of all! 🏴‍☠️

Please join us in celebrating our May Employee of the Month, Amber, our amazing Group Leader Coordinator - Direct Care Staff Supervisor!

Amber consistently goes above and beyond to ensure adequate staffing for AFH while leading our direct care staff with heart, grace, and grit. She pours love and compassion into the kiddos in our care, plans fun and engaging activities for weekends and breaks, and is always a source of support, wisdom, and encouragement to staff.

Amber is a true team player whose integrity, positivity, and dedication never go unnoticed. She leads by example, never complains, and always shows up ready to serve others with excellence and compassion. We are so proud to celebrate Amber and thankful for the incredible impact she makes every single day!

Yesterday, A Friend’s House had the honor of attending the ribbon-cutting for The Reserve at Hickory Hills by Dream Finders Homes, representing the Henry County Chamber of Commerce. What an incredible event filled with amazing food, beautiful design, and wonderful new connections! 🏡✨

The model home was absolutely stunning with an open-concept floor plan, oversized windows that flooded the home with natural light, and spacious, well-appointed bedrooms throughout. One of my favorite features? The direct access from the primary closet into the laundry room — such a smart and practical touch! 👏

Thank you to Dream Finders Homes for the warm hospitality and for bringing such a beautiful community to Henry County. We loved being part of the celebration! 💙

Today, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. 🇺🇸

At A Friend’s House, we are especially grateful for those who served and for the families who carry their legacy forward each day. Their courage and selflessness remind us of the importance of community, compassion, and caring for one another.
