Today we honor the life and legacy of Zoey Fugle, who battled leukemia, a childhood cancer. Her family attended a Chase The Victory retreat earlier last year following their tragic loss of Zoey. To learn more about her and donate in her honor visit the link below. Zoey’s family shared these words with us about her:
“Zoey was a dynamic soul - she loved hard, played hard, and felt things deeply. Her greatest loves in life were babies, animals, swinging, zoo trips, and cheesy snacks. She lived only a short time here on earth, but she made her 4 years count. We sure miss her scrunchy smile and silliness.
Zoey fought leukemia for 2.5 years. We have hope that Zoey is pain-free and safe in the arms of Jesus now. Love you always and forever, sweet girl.”

On this day 7 years ago, Chase McDaniel received the news that even after all the treatment, his cancer had not gone away. It was on that same day that Chase came up with a plan: he wanted to give sneakers (his favorite gift) away to those who needed some encouragement. Today, Chase The Victory carries Chase’s legacy, and every pair of shoes that we give away is a gift of encouragement from Chase.

Today we honor the life and legacy of Lucas Ticola, who battled DIPG, a childhood cancer. His family attended a Chase The Victory Family retreat earlier this year following their tragic loss of Lucas. To learn more about him and donate in his honor visit the link below.
Lucas’s family shared these words with us about him:
"Lucas Rodney Ticola, lovingly known as Mighty Robot Tiger Lucas, was born July 23, 2018, and from the very beginning, there was a special light about him that people naturally gravitated toward. Lucas never met a stranger. He was funny, affectionate, confident, creative, adventurous, particular, and incredibly thoughtful, with a contagious laugh and larger-than-life personality. He loved swimming, climbing, building LEGOs, dinosaurs, stuffies, Yoshi, and especially playing Nintendo Switch with his family. Some of his favorites were spaghetti and meatballs, Chick-fil-A, lollipops, his pets, his cousins, and road trips to see family. Most of all, Lucas loved his people fiercely. Saying “I love you” and blowing kisses were his specialties, and being together was always what mattered most.

At six years old, Lucas was diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG), an aggressive and currently incurable childhood brain cancer. Two days later, while recovering from his biopsy, Lucas proudly declared his superhero name “Robot Tiger Lucas,” and Mighty Robot Tiger Lucas was born. For the next 16 months, he faced the unimaginable with extraordinary courage while remaining funny, feisty, loving, determined, and very much in charge. On December 16, 2025, at just seven years old, Lucas laid down his sword after 485 days of fighting DIPG. His beautiful light continues to shine through everyone who knew and loved him, and his family is committed to carrying that light forward—sharing his story, raising awareness, funding research, and fighting for a future where children diagnosed with DIPG have what Lucas deserved: a cure."

Today we honor the life and legacy of Sara Sharma, who battled DIPG, a childhood cancer. Her family attended a Chase The Victory Family retreat earlier this year following their tragic loss of Sara. To learn more about her and donate in her honor visit the link below.

Sara’s family shared these words with us about her:
"Sara was off to a fantastic start of grade 5. It was on Thanksgiving weekend that we received the devastating news that she collapsed at school due to a terminal brain tumor. Sara being Sara, was more concerned about the turkey, and whether our extended family dinner was cancelled. This is exactly how Sara continued to live her life for the next 10 months. She craved making memories and valued family time with her sister, cousins, uncles and aunts and her grandparents. Through the heartbreak she still experienced so much joy. She found the silver lining in moments, always sporting the biggest smile when her friends popped in for a visit. She could sit for hours and listen to Taylor Swift and play video games with her little sister. When she wasn't busy making memories, she was busy eating. Sara was a foodie through and through. She had a huge love for homemade burgers, sushi, Chinese food and anything sweet! She needed those calories to keep up with her busy schedule of being a jazz and ballet dancer, skater, swimmer and runner on the school track team. Sara lived life to the fullest, and her gentle nature, compassion and caring for others continues to shine to this day. She is so loved, and will be forever missed by all those that had the honor of knowing her."

Today we honor the life and legacy of Joseph Mendenhall, who battled T cell lymphoblastic lymphoma, a childhood cancer. His family attended a Chase The Victory Family retreat earlier this year following their tragic loss of Joseph. To learn more about him and donate in his honor visit the link below.
Joseph’s family shared these words with us about him: Joseph, our incredible boy. Eleven years wasn’t long enough, but we will always cherish the gift and light you brought into this world and to our family. You were amazing at being a fun and annoying little brother, as well as a compassionate and caring big brother to your brothers and sister.

You were such an incredible son. You made us laugh, you made us cry, you made us worry and you gave us so much love & laughter along the way. You taught us to treat each day and each moment as a precious gift. We have forever been changed by your example of goodness. You had a great appreciation for the small and simple things in life. Nature, ladybugs, sunflowers & succulents, rocks, flying a kite, taking naps, Nerf gun fights, eating lettuce with ranch dressing, and especially a good steak. You loved to swim and float and kayak. You and your brothers loved playing video games- especially Minecraft together. You loved learning and really enjoyed Math, Engineering & Science. You had an incredible imagination and sense of humor! You were brilliant and inquisitive. How we loved your sense of humor & all the jokes you’d share with us! You were the most amazing friend and always reached out and helped lift those in need. You loved God and had a testimony of his plan. You had an obsession with books and reading! You’d read and read and read! (Often 400-500 page books in just a day.)We think all those books helped ease your mind and take you on some fun adventures in the middle of so much hard. You also loved music and learned piano and taught yourself a little ukulele. You had the most angelic singing voice- one we miss so much. You had a blast participating in your Elementary musical, Mary Poppins, in 5th grade. The words of your audition piece “I’ve Got No Strings” will forever echo in our minds and remind us that you are now free from the burdens and trials of this life. “There are no strings on YOU!” As your favorite scripture says “I can do ALL things through Christ which strengthens me!”

The cancer may have taken years of your childhood and the opportunity to grow up, but it will never erase the impact and love you have left behind. We love you and miss you like crazy. Things haven’t been the same since you’ve gone home to Heaven, but we look forward with anticipation and longing to the day when we will be with you again. You are forever ours. We love you Joey. 💛💙💛”

Today we honor the life and legacy of Rylan French, who battled DIPG, a childhood cancer. Her family attended a Chase The Victory Family retreat earlier this year following their tragic loss of Rylan. To learn more about her and donate in her honor visit the link below.
Rylan’s family shared these words with us about her:
"Rylan Alexa entered this world on January 1 @ 1:56am shortly after the ball dropped on New Year’s Day in 2013. We celebrated and sang to that little girl every single year on New Year’s Eve leading into that moment that the New Year came.
Rylan lived an active and fun life, and was healthy all the way up until the couple weeks before her diagnosis when she noticed changes in herself. At age 11, Rylan was diagnosed with DIPG, an inoperable brain tumor. She fought so hard and tirelessly for 370 days. That year was spent giving her our everything and spending every moment with her. We showered her with love, parties, shopping trips, we traveled, went to water parks and concerts, and although it was the hardest year we’ve ever faced, we are thankful for the time we were able to cherish until we were forced to say goodbye. Heaven gained an incredible angel on August 7, 2025.

Rylan was a beautiful girl that had so much to live for. She played softball and was such a natural. She played first base and batted clean up. She also enjoyed soccer, gymnastics and swimming. She was always a hard worker and paid attention to the details of things. She was a great student in school striving to work to do better but always pleasing everybody around her. Teachers really loved her because she was so relatable. Many teachers and adults were able to joke around with her because she always got the inside jokes and saw the sarcasm and humor in things. She was fair, passionate, and thoughtful. Rylan really loved skin care and makeup and spent many hours behind the mirror playing with different products and different looks. She loved music, drawing, singing and writing. She was the best big sister to her three younger siblings and the best dog mama to her loyal bestie, Honey, who stayed by her side every day and night. Although New Year’s will never feel fair or right, we will always celebrate our beautiful girl. She truly touched the lives of so many and to know Rylan is to love her. "

Sariyah’s family shared these words with us about her: “My sweet amazing Sariyah, she was like no other. Instead of me saving her life, she saved mine. Sariyah was strong, feisty and fierce. I admired her strength. Sariyah was diagnosed with DIPG on December 23rd of 2023. She was just a happy little girl. Full of life and joy. She was my best friend. It seems like when she got sick she was guiding me to be strong and she was just as strong. We were each other's support. She would tell me "mommy you're a super hero" and even though I felt helpless, she was also preparing me for what's to come. My beautiful girl fought for 15 months. I just wasn't ready to let her go. We were having too much fun together, but she let me know that she would be okay and so would I. Her favorite color was pink, she loved to roll her eyes and was just a fierce little girl. She loved spicy noodles and playing pretend. She would pretend to bake. She had this favorite baking show on YouTube. Sariyah was before her time and the most amazing human being and I thank God for allowing me to have her even though I didn't feel like I deserved her.”
