Inheritance of Hope 562 children will lose a parent to terminal illness today. They shouldn't have to face that alone. Surprisingly, there were none.

OUR STORY | The Inheritance of Hope story began with one young family facing a parent’s terminal illness – a mom and dad with young children looking for resources for their entire family as they all navigated the mom’s illness. They decided to create resources for their family and share them with others. In 2007, Deric and Kristen Milligan launched IoH with the mission to inspire hope in young families facing the loss of a parent, and the brand has grown to serve families throughout the U.S. WHAT WE DO | Inheritance of Hope is a hope-filled community of care that serves families in 3 life-changing ways:

ON-SITE: Legacy Retreats®, destination experience where families create lifelong memories and receive the tools to navigate the challenges of terminal illness. ONLINE: Hope@Home™ Weekend, memory-making event where your family can connect with other families who “get it” -- all from the comfort of home. ON-GOING: Hope@Home™ Groups, monthly groups for all ages to gain resources and connect in community with people who understand their situation. Inheritance of Hope welcomes families of all faiths and backgrounds while serving under the core beliefs of the Christian faith.

Every mile has a purpose. ❤️

In just a few days, Shane Carr will take on a 140.6-mile IRONMAN in honor of Ruth Kim, whose family was served by Inheritance of Hope during an incredibly difficult season.

Through this challenge, Shane is turning remembrance into action, helping more families facing a parent's terminal illness receive the support, connection, and hope they need. Watch Shane share why this race means so much to him and why he's chosen to dedicate every mile to helping other families create more moments together.

As race day approaches, we're grateful for Shane, for the way he is honoring Ruth's legacy, and for the impact his journey can have on families who need hope today.

He had been living with a life-changing injury for 25 years. After he passed away, his eight siblings were left to figure out how to honor him. They had never talked with him about how he wanted his life to be celebrated.

Holley Day, October 13th 💫

Every October 13, we honor the life and legacy of Kendra Scott’s dear friend Holley Rothell Kitchen. Holley passed away from metastatic breast cancer in 2016. Ten years later, her legacy continues to inspire how we show up for families facing terminal illness.

We hope you’ll join us in store for Holley Day. On Holley Day, 20% of net profits from all in-store and online sales will help fund Inheritance of Hope Legacy Retreats® through the Kendra Scott Foundation.

Inheritance of Hope spoke with some of Holley Rothell Kitchen’s loved ones. They shared with us three pieces of advice based on how Holley lived out her last months. Holley faced metastatic breast cancer and passed away in January 2016. She serves on as a champion for researching a cure and building an intentional legacy. We celebrate her on “Holley Day,” October 13.
