Got a baseball game for your live auction? Pair it with basketball and football. Call it the Ultimate Atlanta Sports Package. Now you have real value.

Then upgrade the experience. Primo seats. Parking. Food and beverage. A suite for them and their friends.

My favorite? Throw the first pitch. Four tickets to the game and one donor takes the mound. Priceless.

I do galas almost every weekend, and I'll say it: Ser Familia’s Saborea Atlanta had the best food yet.

Saturday night at the Omni, more than a dozen Latin chefs filled the room with flavor during Hispanic Heritage Month, and the crowd matched their energy all night long. Everyone looked fantastic.

It was a room full of people ready to support the community with vital mental health services, parenting education, and wraparound family support programs.

That's what Ser Familia provides for Latino families across Georgia, and every dollar raised last night keeps that work going.

Thank you to Belisa and the entire Ser Familia team for a night I won't forget.

Such a fun night of generosity at the Atlanta Center for Photography at 'Common Threads' 2026 Auction Gala.

ACP's mission is to advance new perspectives in photography from the American South, and every paddle that went up tonight goes straight to the artists and programs that make that happen: exhibitions, fellowships for emerging artists, and a home base on Edgewood Avenue for Atlanta's photography community.

Thank you to Lindsey and the entire ACP team for having me, and to everyone who showed up dressed to the nines and ready to give. You made it a night to remember.

Tip Tuesday: Timing for Your Auction Lots

How long does fundraising actually take? Here is the breakdown.

Live auction: 4-5 minutes per lot. Paddle raise setup: 5 minutes.
Speaker: 3-5 minutes.
The appeal: 10 minutes max.
Paddle Drop: 5 minutes.

Never let fundraising exceed one hour total.

Use your run of show as a clock. That is the tip.

Yes, it's exactly what it sounds like — and yes, it works every single time.

A room full of guests dressed to the nines, a glass in hand, and a game everyone already knows how to play. No instructions needed, no learning curve, just easy energy from the very first round.

This one was for the Georgia Center for Child Advocacy — sequins, fascinators, and a whole lot of "BINGO!"

Simple game. Big fun. Full room. And it works just as well for your holiday party as it does for any other event.
