Meet Lacie
At just 18 years old, Lacie is the kind of young woman who leaves an impact wherever she goes. Strong, independent, and full of determination, she has always been the one who says, “I’ve got this,” and then proves it. Her faith in God is the foundation of her life, and she stands firmly in her beliefs while showing compassion and kindness to everyone around her.
Lacie recently graduated early with a 4.0 GPA, eager to get a head start on her dream of becoming either a veterinarian or a psychologist. Whether caring for animals or helping people, serving others has always been at the heart of who she is.
Anyone who knows Lacie knows her love for animals. She dreams of one day owning a large piece of property where she can build her own farm and homestead. Currently, she cares for three dogs, five cats, and eleven chickens, with hopes of adding even more animals to her growing family. Over the years, she has rescued and nurtured countless animals, including abandoned kittens and a litter of puppies that she helped bring back to health before finding them loving homes. Her compassion extends far beyond her own backyard.
But perhaps one of Lacie’s greatest gifts is her servant’s heart. For the past two years, she has been a full-time caregiver to her three-year-old niece, Zoey. Through Lacie’s love, patience, and dedication, Zoey has learned her alphabet, numbers, basic sign language, conversation skills, and even potty training. Lacie has helped provide stability, love, and opportunity in Zoey’s life, making a difference that words cannot fully describe.
Recently, Lacie and her family received heartbreaking news. After noticing a mass on her chest that would not go away and undergoing a series of tests, she was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma. The diagnosis has turned life upside down for this young woman and her family, but anyone who knows Lacie knows that she will face this journey with the same courage, strength, and determination that she has shown throughout her life.
The 13th Annual Jason Holland Memorial 5K is honored to support Lacie and her family during this difficult season. As she begins treatment, we invite our community to rally around her with prayers, encouragement, and support. Together, we can help lighten the burden and remind Lacie that she is not walking this road alone.
