Our new friend, Makenzie, is facing a battle that no 23-year-old should have to face. After recently being diagnosed with cancer, she’s been navigating appointments, tests, and a whole lot of unknowns. Her medical team is keeping a close eye on some things, and we’re continuing to pray for good news and complete healing! 🙏

But one thing we know for sure is that Makenzie and her family are NOT walking this road alone!

Caring for a Cause is getting ready to rally around her, and we need our community to SHOW UP like you always do!

🧡 NOW IT’S OUR TURN TO SHOW UP FOR KEVIN 🧡

A few weeks ago, we introduced you to Kevin Gilham and told you that Caring for a Cause would be back in October with a way for our community to help his family.

That time is now.

For more than 30 years, Kevin answered the call for others. He served his community as both a firefighter and police officer, retiring as a Lieutenant with Henry County Fire after more than three decades of service. And even after retirement, Kevin continued giving back by volunteering with Pike County Fire.

Kevin has spent his adult life showing up for people on some of their hardest days.

Now, as he battles leukemia and faces chemotherapy, procedures, hospital stays and treatment, it’s our turn to show up for him. 🧡

And we have a FUN way to do it!

It’s time! This year marks our 16th year of Christmas Kindness, and we are once again asking our amazing community to help us make Christmas special for local children who need a little extra love this season.

Before choosing how many children you would like to sponsor, please consider your budget carefully. Each child’s sponsor will be asked to provide:

👟 A pair of shoes
👕 An outfit
🧦 Socks
🩲 Underwear
🎁 Some items from the child’s Christmas wish list

You do not have to purchase every wish on their list, but we do want each child to receive their basic clothing needs along with a few things they are hoping to find under the tree. ❤️

Please choose the number of children you sponsor based on what you are comfortable providing. Whether you sponsor one child or several, you are making a difference!
