After a fun game of tug-of-war, Jean was ready to dial it down a notch and chew on a bone. Mary followed suit and grabbed a bone as well.

We love watching Mary grow and mature right before our eyes. Puppies need a mix of physical play as well as some down time. Puppies, much like toddlers, think that it should be full-bore playtime all of the time…and that just isn’t the case.

We’re so thankful that Jean is a fabulous foster sister. She’s doing a great job modeling behaviors for Mary.

FULL BODY WIGGLES

We’ve been so focused on Mary’s amazing training progress and fun time with her canine pals…we haven’t shown off her sweet, lovable side. (Shame on us. Bad foster parents. Bad. 😝)

This morning, foster papa got out the door first with Mary and Grace. I followed shortly thereafter with Ellie & Jean.

When Mary noticed that I had walked out too, it was full body wiggles to great me.

“Everyone” says their foster dog is sweet…so I try to avoid that generic description of our fosters. But full body wiggles? Those need to be shared, for sure! 🥰

If you need more puppy wiggles in your life, start by filling out an adoption application.

We would love to schedule a meet & greet for Mary. ❤️

Mary had a great day today!
Tonight foster papa introduced a new command: “touch”.

“Touch” helps capture and redirect attention, making it useful for focus and interrupting unwanted behaviors (e.g., jumping). We used “touch” a lot with our stranger-danger Angel. ❤️💔🌈

Since Mary is eager to learn, we thought it would be a good one to throw in her bag of tricks. Clearly, she picked up on this quickly.

“HOW’D IT GO?”

Mary crushed it today at the adoption event!
Whaaat?!?!

She calmly greeted people and wasn’t pulling like a trucker on leash. 👀 OMG is this the same dog we took home only 2 weeks ago? She’s still a little vocal when there’s a party going on outside her crate and she’s not part of it…but I get it. She did very well! 🥰

We’re not dog trainers…just committed foster parents doing our best for the dogs that come through our doors. We want to set them up for success with their new families. While we knew that we had done everything right over the past two weeks, we were still a little bit nervous/unsure how she would do.

Tonight, we celebrate. 🤩😝

Mary met a new friend today. We’re hopeful that we’ll hear back from her new friend to schedule a meet-and-greet with her potential new canine sibling! 🤞❤️🤞❤️
