“I’ve been deeply touched by listening to my friend Dr. Lindsay Branham’s new book Heartwood: The Wisdom and Healing Kinship of Trees and her journey of discovering the incredibly healing power that a true relationship with trees can have on mental, physical and emotional health. I am grateful for her research and focus on this topic because it has deepened my own relationship with trees and the natural world and I am better for it.”

We’re so honored to co-sponsor this special Deep Ecology Writing Retreat at the Catto Center at Toklat Aspen Center for Environmental Studies with environmental psychologist and author Dr. Lindsay Branham Lindsay Branham 💚

On August 29–30, 2026, we’ll gather in the extraordinary wilderness surrounding ACES at Toklat to explore writing as a practice of deep listening and connection with the more-than-human world.

Expect guided writing, poetry and prose, nature immersion, meditation, movement, embodiment, courageous truth-telling, and meaningful conversation, all held in a space where the land itself becomes part of the creative practice.

Our wonderful teacher River Morgan will also offer optional embodiment practices to help us come home to the body, open our senses, and invite creativity to move through us.

Come write. Come listen. Come remember that you are part of a living world. ☘️

August 29–30 | Toklat
Optional overnight Saturday night.
