AspenOut

AspenOut AspenOUT is an LGBTQIA+ nonprofit 501c3. Our annual fundraiser is Aspen Gay Ski Week. They also host smaller fundraising opportunities throughout the year.

The RFGLCF is the only 501(c)3 educational nonprofit volunteer organization of it’s kind in the rural Rocky Mountain west; serving one of the highest rural concentrations of GLBT populations in the nation. The organization hosts a variety of programs and events including educational forums, dinners, workshops, meetings, outings and parties. Their signature fundraising opportunity of the year is th

e fabulous Aspen Gay Ski Week each January, which brings over 5,000 GLBT visitors during the week. Whether you are a long-time local or just visiting for a few days we invite you to join any and all of their events. As much as AspenOut is about fun, the Roaring Fork Gay and Lesbian Community Fund is about giving back to our community and improving life for all people here in the Roaring Fork valley. From Aspen all the way down to Rifle and over to Vail, we strive to provide resources to help the diverse GLBT community flourish and come together under one central organization. AspenOUT takes their mission seriously and invite you to become apart of this growing mission. This page is managed by a group of community volunteers who support the mission of this great local organization. This is an open page, so please share your photos and more with the community.

Of the data that came out of the first year of the partnership, Volk shared that 87% of folks expressed they’re dealing with anxiety and depression or stress. Of that 87%, 54% said they don’t currently have access to mental health resources or therapy.

“Those are really striking numbers,” Volk said. “It’s easy to see how there is such a high su***de rate. By offering this and letting the community know these resources are out there — that’s been our mission. It’s been our mission for a long time.”

AspenOUT has partnered with Voda, an LGBTQ+ mental wellbeing app, for the second year in a row in order to expand mental health access for those in rural areas.
