Every month, our team makes a special trip to downtown Seattle for what we affectionately call our "TP Run."

This incredible partnership began because Xinia Reyes-Buchanan, Senior District Manager of Amazon's Global Real Estate and Facilities (GREF) team, noticed something many people would overlook. Janitorial staff are required to replace restroom toilet paper rolls when they are low, leaving partially used rolls destined for the trash.

A HUGE thank you to Xinia for creating a solution that turns what would have been waste into a blessing for our community. She had the opportunity to see the impact of her efforts firsthand by volunteering at one of our food distributions and handing out the very toilet paper she helped rescue. It was a beautiful full-circle moment, allowing her to witness the direct impact of her vision and the many families being served through this partnership.

Our monthly toilet paper rescue mission provides enough toilet paper to supply all of our distribution locations twice each month. Considering a family of four in Washington can spend $288–$336 annually on toilet paper, this simple act makes a real difference.

Together, we're turning waste into a resource that blesses our community.

At SOTE, we believe in making the most of every blessing we receive and that means nothing goes to waste!

As we glean fresh fruits and vegetables to provide the best produce possible to our community, there are always a few pieces that are bruised, overripe, or not quite suitable for distribution. But don't worry they still have a very important purpose!

Meet our friend Tiger. He happily enjoys the produce that can't be shared through our Food Blessing program. And he's not the only one benefiting from our efforts! We also have some very special cows who eagerly await their favorite treat leftover baguettes!

From the fields to the families we serve, and even to our animal friends, every part of the harvest is put to good use. We are grateful for the opportunity to be good stewards of the resources entrusted to us and to ensure that as little as possible goes to waste.

Swipe through to see Tiger enjoying his snacks and some of our bread-loving cows enjoying theirs. Their excitement is a great reminder that every blessing can continue to bless others in unexpected ways.

Community is at its best when we come together to serve one another.

We are grateful to share that Zion Lutheran Church of Everett and The Gathering have locked arms with SOTE to support our Everett location every Friday at 11:30 AM.

Through their community garden, they provide fresh produce for our Food Blessing, helping ensure that families and individuals have access to healthy, nourishing food. This partnership is a wonderful example of what can happen when organizations unite around a common purpose.

Thank you to Zion Lutheran and The Gathering for your generosity, dedication, and heart for our community. It truly takes a village, and together we are making a difference.

After a long day of hard work, there’s one thing that gets everyone moving a little faster… the promise of pizza. 🍕

We’re incredibly grateful to Little Caesars in Smokey Point for their ongoing generosity, donating pizza and other goodies to Salt of the Earth Food Blessing four days a week. Those pizzas go out through many of our distributions and yes, our volunteers definitely “quality control test” a slice (or two) before sending them on their way.

It’s amazing what a difference a hot meal makes after a full day of serving the community. Big thank you to Little Caesars for keeping bellies full, morale high, and volunteers just motivated enough to finish the day strong.

We are so thankful for our partnership with Midnight Cry Community Fellowship as they faithfully host our Sunday food distribution in Snohomish from 4:00–5:00pm.

This generous church opens their space each week to serve the community, creating a place where families can receive support, encouragement, and food.

Their volunteer team may be small, but they are mighty! Week after week, this dedicated group comes together to make sure the job gets done and the community is cared for well.

Thank you, Midnight Cry Church, for your faithful partnership and for loving your community so well.

We are thankful for our partnership with Marysville Foursquare Church (M4), one of our amazing host churches serving the Marysville community and surrounding areas since June 2022.

Every Thursday at 11:30am, this incredible team helps distribute food to the community at 11911 State Ave, Marysville.

They have built a strong group of volunteers from both the church and the local community who consistently show up to love and serve people well.

We share a common goal....to love people. And through that love, families are blessed with free food and support during difficult times.

Thank you, M4, for being such an important part of this mission!

BREAKING BOUNDARIES!

At Salt of the Earth Food Blessing, we believe kindness should never be limited by boundaries.

Last week, we had the incredible opportunity to step outside our typical service area and bless the Parks & Recreation Department in Mount Vernon with 6 pallets of beautiful flowers!

Seeing these flowers go into the community reminds us that small acts of generosity can brighten entire cities. We are grateful for the partnerships, volunteers, and supporters who help make moments like this possible.

Together, we continue planting hope, beauty, and encouragement wherever the need arises.

Flexibility is one of the greatest strengths of a community that cares for one another.

A few weeks ago, our Sunday distribution needed to be moved due to a memorial service being held at the church during our regular distribution time. Without hesitation, a neighboring resident and volunteer opened up her front yard so the distribution could continue without disruption for the community we serve.

Because of kindness, flexibility, and teamwork, families still received the food they needed that day.

We are so grateful for neighbors willing to step up, adapt, and help make sure no one goes without. This is what community looks like, caring for one another. Our neighbor practiced Philippians 2:4 - Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.

As summer temperatures begin to rise, so does the urgency of the work we do at Salt of the Earth Food Blessing.

Every year, we are blessed with opportunities to rescue and distribute large amounts of refrigerated and frozen food to families in need. But when the heat kicks in, time becomes critical and without reliable cold storage transportation, valuable food can be lost before it ever reaches the people who need it most.

Right now, we are in great need of a refrigeration truck to help us safely transport food throughout the summer season and beyond. A dependable refrigerated truck would allow us to respond quickly, accept larger donations, and continue serving our communities with excellence year-round.

The cost of a new refrigeration truck is approximately $50,000.

We know that together, our community can make big things happen. Whether through donations, sharing this post, business partnerships, or helping us connect with funding opportunities, every bit of support brings us one step closer to keeping fresh and frozen food moving to families instead of landfills.

Thank you for standing beside us as we continue this mission of feeding people with dignity, compassion, and hope.

Every Wednesday, we deliver food to a senior living community in Everett where residents gather together to organize and distribute it throughout their community.

Their energy, excitement, and servant hearts are such a blessing to witness each week, and we are grateful to play a small part in supporting these amazing seniors.

We are currently looking for a coverage driver for this Wednesday route, which includes pickups from three local stores before delivery. Having backup and support drivers helps ensure we can continue providing food consistently to these wonderful residents without interruption.

If you have a few hours to give on Wednesdays, please message us for more information about volunteering.
