Today is Trans Day of Visibility, a day to celebrate the strength, joy, and resilience of trans people everywhere.

When we come together, we are unstoppable. We show up in the streets, at the polls, and in our everyday lives to support our trans siblings and ensure their voices are heard.

At a time when efforts to restrict trans rights are increasing, it’s more important than ever to stand in solidarity. Everyone deserves dignity, safety, and the freedom to live as their authentic self.

Visibility is powerful. Community is powerful. And when we take action together, we create real change.

Today and every day, we stand with the trans community. 🏳️‍⚧️

🎵 Walter Arlen (1920–2023)
Composer • Holocaust Survivor • LGBTQ+ Pioneer

“I lost everything … but the music stayed with me.”

Born in Vienna to a Jewish family, Walter Arlen fled N**i persecution after losing his parents, his first love, and his home. He rebuilt his life in the U.S., eventually becoming a composer, music critic, and founder of Loyola Marymount’s music department.

Though he wrote over 65 works, Arlen's music wasn’t performed publicly until he was 88. He married his partner of 65 years, Howard Myers, at age 93.

A story of resilience, love, and the power of art. 🕊️🎶

🌈 LGBTQ History Month Spotlight: Peter Anastos 🌈
Choreographer. Trailblazer. Founder of Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo — the all-male ballet company that mixed high art with high heels and hilarious parody. 🩰🎭

As Olga Tchikaboomskaya, Anastos broke boundaries in dance, bringing joy, queerness, and brilliance to the stage. 50 years later, his legacy still dazzles.

🌈 Happy Pride from Spectrum Singers! 🎶💖
At Spectrum Singers, Pride is more than a month—it’s a celebration of identity, love, resilience, and community. We sing in harmony not just with our voices, but with our values.

We support Pride because we believe everyone deserves to live and express their truth freely, without fear or shame. Music has always been a powerful tool for change, healing, and connection—and we’re proud to raise our voices for equality, inclusion, and joy.

To our LGBTQ+ members, audience, friends, and family: you are seen, you are valued, and you are loved. Your stories matter. Your lives matter. And your pride inspires us.

This month and always, we sing for you.
