Hello, Arlington Community!

As the colder weather approaches, our center is collecting winter coats and warm clothing to help keep our neighbors warm this season.

We are currently accepting donations of:
- Winter coats
- Gloves
- Hats and beanies
- Scarves
- New, thick socks
- Hand warmers

Adult sizes for both men and women are needed.

We had such a great time at our End of Summer Celebration on Saturday! It was wonderful to see so many families from the community come out to enjoy one last summer celebration and get ready for the new school year.

We are especially excited that 222 kids received backpacks filled with school supplies and are now ready to head back to school!

It was also great to have so many local organizations join us and share resources and services with the community. We are very grateful for these partnerships and for everyone who helped make this annual event a success.

The kids had plenty of fun too, with a bounce house, lawn games, cotton candy, lunch, and more!

Thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, shared resources, and helped make the day possible. We hope all the kids in Arlington have a wonderful start to the school year! 💙

Is cooking your passion, or have you been wanting to learn more and pursue a career in the culinary field?

Our Culinary Workforce Training Program can help you build your cooking skills and prepare for your next step in the workforce.

During this free 10 week program, you’ll learn:
• Kitchen basics and cooking skills
• Financial literacy
• De escalation training
• Professional development skills
• Resume building and interview preparation
• Job search support

📍 Lynnwood Neighborhood Center
📅 10 weeks | Monday to Friday
🕐 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

To participate, you must:
• Be 18 or older
• Be currently unemployed or low income
• Be authorized to work in the United States
• Have basic English proficiency

We are officially kicking off Operation Backpack® School Supply Drives!

With your help, Volunteers of America Western Washington ensures students start the school year prepared and confident.
Last year, 900 students received backpacks and school supplies. This year, the need is even greater and even more children are counting on us.
