Las Cruces and El Paso residents are extremely compassionate when it comes to donating to great causes. Las Cruces City Council recognized Casa de Peregrinos and Days for Girls at today's City Council meeting as being recipients of great community donations.
Both non-profits were chosen for excellent service and financial responsibility.
Casa de Peregrinos serves our community with meals for the needy and Days for Girls is dedicated to female hygiene management.
The donation process was done through the Light the Way Giving Machines in El Paso during Winterfest. Donations were made through a type of vending machine where donors chose a non-profit to support. A donor pays for an item of need (like meals or hygiene kits) and 100% of the value of the item purchased was given to the specific non-profit.
The machines were placed in El Paso Nov. 22 - December 9, 2025.
