Our friends at Primrose Schools are hosting their Annual Family Field Day this Sunday, June 28th, from 12 PM to 4 PM—and they are throwing open the gates for an epic afternoon of family fun in the glorious, cool AC!

🐶 THE SHELTER IS FULL: We need our community's help today! 🐱

Celebrate the FIFA World Cup by adopting a sweet kitty or a playful pup! Meet your match and find your next MVP at the Arlington Animal Shelter with our World Pup Adoption Special ⚽

We pride ourselves on being a resourceful, resilient community, but right now, our kennel space is at a critical limit.

The reality of the last few days:

High Intakes: We experienced an incredibly heavy wave of incoming animals all last week, and that trend has continued straight into today.

Low Adoptions: Unfortunately, we had a very slow adoption weekend, meaning more animals arrived than found homes.

Our team is working tirelessly to provide excellent care, but we cannot solve capacity challenges alone. True animal welfare is a community effort, and right now, we need you.

How You Can Help Right Now:
1. Adopt: If you have been thinking about adding a furry family member, today is the day. We have incredible dogs and cats waiting to meet you.
2. Foster: Not ready for a long-term commitment? Short-term fostering opens up immediate, life-saving kennel space. Rescue organizations are pleading for temporary homes!
3. Share This Post: Even if you can’t adopt or foster, your share might reach the exact family an animal is waiting for.

💔 URSA NEEDS A HERO TO SAVE HER 💔

This beautiful Husky mix girl, Ursa, came into the shelter on 6/7 with her terrified sister Aurora and is still waiting for someone to give her a chance. While everyone seems to notice the puppies/highly adoptables, dogs like Ursa quietly sit and wait, hoping today will be the day someone stops at their kennel.

At only about 3 years old, Ursa is past the puppy stage, but still has so many years ahead of her to love, explore, and be someone’s loyal companion.

It’s heartbreaking to think that she and her sister entered the shelter together and are now spending their days watching the world go by from behind kennel doors.

She just needs to be chosen.

Please help share this beautiful girl, so she can finally leave the shelter behind and start the life she deserves. ❤️

💔 TAZZ HAS BEEN WAITING FOR A HERO FOR OVER 2 MONTHS!

How is Tazz still sitting in the shelter?

This handsome Blue Heeler mix has been waiting since 4/7 for someone to give him a chance, and with every passing day, another day of his life slips away behind kennel doors.

2 year old Tazz is in the prime of his life. He’s old enough to be past the tiny puppy stage, but still has years of adventures, loyalty, and companionship ahead of him.

Australian Cattle Dogs are known for their intelligence, devotion, and willingness to be your partner in everything. Whether it’s hiking trails, road trips, backyard games, or simply hanging out at home, these dogs form incredible bonds with their people.

Yet somehow, Tazz continues to be overlooked.
