UT Arlington Social Work Council The Social Work Council is a student organization at the University of Texas at Arlington. The SWCC team looks forward to working with you this year!

Mission Statement
To empower social work majors, the student body at large, and our communities to engage in growth through leadership, service, and connection. The Social Work Constituency Council (SWCC) is bringing the heart of social work to the UTA School of Social Work through fundraising, volunteering, and advocacy. The SWCC’s goal is to connect UTA’s social work students (undergraduate, gra

duate and PhD) to their campus. Members of this amazing organization get to represent their school, be active in their field of study and gain some great experience for their futures as social workers! The only qualification that is required to be a part of this organization is the desire to make a difference in the community around you! NASW/TX applauds the decision from the Texas State Board of Social Work Examiners (TSBSWE) to keep the Social Work Code of Conduct intact, maintaining anti-discrimination protections for persons who identify as having a disability or based on their sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression.

By remaining a key part of the Code of Conduct, the anti-discrimination provisions affirm that everyone in Texas can access services. NASW/TX, along with our many partners, will continue to fight for a Texas Code of Conduct that aligns with the NASW Code of Ethics to ensure that Texans with disabilities or who identify as LGBTQIA+ are not subject to any form of discrimination.
