NAMIWalks Fox Valley Team Spotlight: Team Kodman 🌟

We’re honored to spotlight Team Kodman, a NAMIWalks team lead by Lisa Fassbender that walks each year in memory of Lisa's son, Kodye Fassbender.

Kodye was a son, brother, nephew, friend, student and coworker. He died by su***de on May 7, 2017, at just 16 years old. Team Kodman keeps his memory alive by sharing his story, breaking the stigma surrounding mental health, and reminding others that it’s okay to not be okay, it’s okay to ask for help, and it’s okay for men to cry.

The team shares, “Owning your story is the bravest thing you’ll ever do. Come walk with us. Together, one step at a time, we’ll make a difference.”

Thank you, Team Kodman, for honoring Kodye’s legacy and using his story to create greater understanding, compassion and hope in our community. 💚

Join Team Kodman and other teams at NAMIWalks Fox Valley on October 3 at Fox Cities Stadium. Register or donate at www.namiwalks.org/foxvalley.

Join us tonight (Wednesday, August 26) at the Elisha D. Smith Public Library in Menasha for the second of our peer support group meetings for those navigating the emotional impact of the tornado and its aftermath. Connect with others who understand, share experiences, and find support. 💚

In the aftermath of a disaster, it can be easy to let the emotional impact of the trauma take a back seat as one navigates immediate needs. At the same time, taking care of one's mental health in a time of crisis is critically important.

If you are an adult who has been impacted by the recent devastating tornado in our community, NAMI Fox Valley invites you to join us at a free peer support group specifically for those navigating the emotional impact of the storm and its aftermath.

This is an opportunity for those affected to come together, share experiences, connect with others who understand, and find support.

There is no charge to attend this group and no registration is required. Simply come join us at the Elisha D. Smith Public Library in Menasha on any of the following dates and times:

🔹Wednesday, August 19, 6:00-7:30 PM
🔹Wednesday, August 26, 6:00-7:30 PM
🔹Wednesday, September 2, 6:00-7:30 PM

If you have questions, please reach out to Vicki Rivera at [email protected] or 920-740-4565.
