Good morning Hope Highway members

We have a recent request for assistance.

This individuals looking for someone to sponsor or donate the funding of approximately $150 so that we can get this cat on to transport for our low-cost spay and neuter as well as updated shots and microchip

Keep in mind. We are waiting for an official surrender letter from the owners previous to the individual looking for assistance to ensure that we have the rights for the requirements of spay.

As soon as I get that confirmation and a phone number to ensure that we are able to move forward we will be in need of assistance to help a community member out who would really prefer to keep the cat, just is not in a position to cover the cost due to the loss of the tornado.

Please let us know if you would be interested in assisting or making a kind donation to help us get to our goal.

We will be updating when we have confirmation of all required documentation.

Thank you again to an absolutely wonderful community. It would be wonderful for this cat not to continue being moved around or land in a shelter. I feel they have old been through just too much. A safe loving environment is so appreciated for these animals who are becoming displaced.

Jack is a happy, sweet boy who is:

🐾 LET’S GET SOME SHARES FOR DARLA! 🖤🤍

We just don’t understand why this beautiful girl isn’t getting more attention. Darla is 4 months old and has come SO far since arriving from Texas. ❤️

She can still be a little timid when meeting new people, but once she knows you’re safe, out comes the silly, fun-loving puppy! She loves belly rubs, chin scratches, toys, and stealing shoes to add to her collection on her bed. 😂👟

🐶 Another dog in the home would be wonderful for her
🏡 Potty training is almost complete
🚗 Once she’s in the car, she settles right in and asks for rubs
💕 Sweet, playful and becoming more confident every day

We don’t know much about Darla’s past, but we know she deserves an amazing future. Her foster family is already falling hard for this special girl, so let’s help find her family before saying goodbye gets even harder. 🥹❤️

Meet Creaco (aka Ressi Rue) — 4 Months Old & Ready for Her Forever Family! 🐾

If you’re looking for a puppy who believes there is no such thing as too much cuddling, Creaco might just be your girl! ❤️

Creaco, affectionately known as Ressi Rue, is now 4 months old and has grown into the sweetest, most loving little pup. She has a gorgeous deep mahogany coat that can look almost black until the sunlight hits it, along with the cutest little white markings.

But as beautiful as she is, it’s her personality that will really steal your heart.

💕 Creaco is a CUDDLER — with a capital C! She absolutely loves being close to her people. If there is an available lap, she will happily fill it. She loves being held, snuggled, petted, and giving lots and lots of kisses. She is an incredibly affectionate little girl who just wants to love and be loved.

And this smart girl has been busy learning!

🐾 Completely potty trained!
🐾 Walks beautifully on a leash!
🐾 Knows “sit” and continues to learn new things!
🐾 Sleeps wonderfully in her crate.
🐾 Does great with children.
🐾 Loves other dogs.
🐾 Gets along with cats.
🐾 And did I mention she LOVES to cuddle? ❤️

Creaco has been fostered in a busy home with dogs of different sizes and personalities, as well as cats, so she has had lots of opportunities to socialize. She enjoys having furry friends to play with and would be very happy in a home with other animals.

But Creaco also loves attention from her people, so she could be equally happy being your one-and-only dog, where she gets to soak up all the love for herself. Whether she has a house full of furry friends or gets to be the center of your world, what matters most to Creaco is having people who will love her as much as she loves them.

She is also still the curious, clever little girl she has always been. She likes figuring things out, exploring her surroundings, going for walks, and then coming home and curling up with her favorite humans.

And yes, she still has that adorable little hound howl when she has something important to say! 🐶🎶

Creaco has come such a long way in just a few short weeks. She is potty trained, leash trained, socialized, smart, playful, gentle, and overflowing with affection.

Now she just needs one more thing:

🏡 A family of her very own.

🐾 Meet Calypso (aka Cali Sue) — 4 Months Old & Ready for Her Forever Family! 🐾

Hi, everyone! I’m Calypso, but my foster family calls me Cali Sue. I’m officially 4 months old now, and I’ve been very busy growing into one smart, confident, loving little girl! ❤️

Let’s start with the important stuff: I’m completely potty trained! 🎉 I walk beautifully on a leash, I can sit pretty, and I’m always ready to learn something new. My foster mom says I’m pretty impressive for such a young pup—but I already knew that. 😉

One of the things that makes me so special is my personality. I’m a wonderfully independent little girl. I’m confident enough to explore, entertain myself, and do my own thing—but don’t mistake independent for not being affectionate!

Because when it comes to love, I am ALL IN. 💕

I absolutely LOVE to snuggle. I give hugs, curl up as close as possible, and believe kisses should be handed out freely and frequently. If you need a little shadow to cuddle up beside you at the end of the day, I’m applying for the position!

I also love kids, dogs, and cats. 🐶🐱❤️ I’m being fostered in a home with other dogs and cats, and I love playing with all of them. Big friends, little friends, canine friends, feline friends—I’m not particularly picky. If somebody wants to play, count me in!

I would absolutely love having a furry brother or sister in my forever home. But because I’m such an independent girl, I’d also be perfectly happy as your one-and-only fur child. Honestly, having all the toys, cuddles, kisses, and attention to myself doesn’t sound too terrible either! 😘

And can we talk about how pretty I am?

I have gorgeous white, speckled fur accented with beautiful rich mahogany markings. I’m definitely one of a kind—and I have the personality to match.

Of course, I haven’t forgotten my hound heritage. Every now and then, I’ll break out my adorable little hound howl when I have something important to say. 🎶🐾 A girl has to have a voice!

At only 4 months old, I already have quite the résumé:

🐾 Completely potty trained
🐾 Walks beautifully on a leash
🐾 Sits pretty
🐾 Smart and independent
🐾 Loves children
🐾 Loves other dogs
🐾 Gets along with cats
🐾 Loves to play
🐾 Gives amazing hugs and kisses
🐾 And is an expert-level snuggler! ❤️

I’d love a family with furry siblings to play with, but I’d be just as happy being your only girl and soaking up all the attention myself.

What I really want is something pretty simple: people of my very own to love.

So, if you’re looking for a smart, confident, playful little girl who can entertain herself, play with the whole gang, walk beside you on a leash, and then climb into your lap for some serious snuggling...

Bennett — 2 Years Old | 3-Legged | Heartworm Positive

Bennett is a 2-year-old boy currently undergoing heartworm treatment. He came into Caddo Parish Animal Services as a stray with a large, gaping wound on his leg. Companions of CPAS took him to the vet, where we learned the injury was from a gunshot wound. We initially attempted to save the leg with splinting, but unfortunately, it was unsuccessful and the leg ultimately had to be amputated.

Before his amputation, Bennett was extremely active, bubbly, curious, and determined. Even with his injury, he remained happy and engaged. Unfortunately, after surgery, he completely shut down in the shelter environment. He stopped wanting to eat, wouldn’t come out of his kennel, and essentially lost his spark. We had been trying to find him a foster since he first arrived, but despite some interest, we hadn’t been able to secure one.

A board member, Brittany, eventually brought Bennett home, and the change was almost immediate. He quickly perked back up and has done extremely well in a home environment. He seamlessly integrated into a pack of six dogs and enjoys having other dogs around.

Bennett is friendly, happy, and still very active despite only having three legs. He gets around the house very well and has no trouble roaming around with the other dogs. He does not like being kenneled and would much rather be loose with his people and canine companions. He has not been destructive in the house.

He rides well in the car and has been an easy houseguest overall. He isn’t particularly interested in toys; what Bennett really wants is company. He likes being around the other dogs, but he also wants to be near his person and be included in whatever is going on. He loves to sunbathe and will happily find a sunny spot to stretch out and soak up the sunshine. He truly is not a bother or an issue in the house.

He would likely do well as either an only dog or with other dogs. He does have a little bit of separation anxiety, so we do think having another dog in the home could be beneficial for him, but he does not necessarily require a canine companion.

At night, Bennett sleeps on an orthopedic bed beside the bed and settles in beautifully. He will also hop onto the couch or bed when he wants to snuggle. He is affectionate without needing constant attention and seems happiest simply being near his people.

Bennett’s biggest challenge appears to be the shelter/kennel environment rather than his ability to function as a normal house dog. Once he was removed from the kennel and given a home setting, his personality came right back.

We think Bennett would do best with a foster who will allow him to be part of the household rather than expecting him to spend extended periods kenneled. He is a happy, active three-legged dog who has already shown us that he is capable of adjusting beautifully to home life. He just needs someone willing to give him that chance.
