Our Mercyland Orphanage focuses primarily on rescuing orphaned and negl

ected children from the streets and empowering families to thrive. Our founder Ebenson Verdule spent more than 4 years of his life on the streets of Port-de-Paix, Haiti. "Misery and a lack of the necessities for life were the factors that drove me to the streets", said Verdule. "Sometimes, I went weeks without food, but God had a plan for my life, and He kept me from starving to death. I would have to say that my experiences do show me why God had me going through all of the dark times – simply, He had a plan. For a long time I tried to forget my past; the pain I endured, and struggles that no child should ever experience. After many years, God has candled a fire in my heart, a fire of compassion, of devotion and of mercy to those children living on the streets." "This vision to go to Haiti really started in 2010. My wife and I got married in 2008, and we had been trying to have children ever since then, but could not. After my wife’s second miscarriage, we prayed asking God why He didn’t bless us with children. God answered us both with the same vision, He said, 'You have more children than you could count, why do you ask me for children?'"

"I was so confused and more so my wife. I had told her a few years before about my childhood experiences. About a week or so after the answer from God - she remembered them. She said that Haiti had so many children that needed help, and maybe that’s where God was calling us to. From there we prayed and asked God to confirm, and He did. He even showed us when we should move there permanently. We made a vow to God that we would go to Haiti and raise the children that He would bring to us in the ways that would glorify His name. We would raise them as diligent servants with Godly character, integrity, wisdom, and the fear of the Lord. We hoped that they would change the country and shine bright for God as lights with the highest radiance, loving each other in a unified environment with peace that passes understanding. About 5 months after making that commitment, my wife was pregnant again. I came to realize that God was testing us to see if we would obey His voice and go to the harvest to save souls. From that realization we started taking steps to set up a functional organization and called it "Mercyland" Orphanage, Inc. meaning, 'God had mercy on me in this land.'" (Verdule) Name was changed in 2021 to "Mercyland Christian Mission, Inc. because it turns out God had bigger plans than what we thought. We now run an orphanage (Mercyland Orphanage), school (Mercyland Christian Academy), and a community center where the gospel is shared. Our ministry is located near Port-de-Paix, Haiti; one of the most isolated regions in Haiti.

We took most of these boys in when they were tiny… now half of them are looking down at me like they pay the bills around here 😂😭

At this point I’m not running an orphanage anymore — I’m running a basketball team in training. Somebody explain how the little boys we used to carry around are suddenly taller than the adults overnight 😅

Proud of every single one of them. Watching them grow into strong young men is one of the greatest blessings ❤️

Before leaving Haiti on my last trip, we gathered the children for a small farewell celebration that turned into a night full of joy, laughter, and unforgettable memories. The children enjoyed a warm meal together, shared smiles around the table, and celebrated with music and dancing late into the evening. Moments like these remind us that even simple acts of love and fellowship can bring healing and hope to children who have faced so much hardship. Seeing their happiness, hearing their laughter, and watching them dance freely was a powerful reminder of why this mission matters. Thank you to everyone who continues to support and pray for these precious children. Your generosity helps create moments they will never forget.

We are deeply grateful for our partnership with Christian Action and Relief for Haiti (CARHA), whose generosity continues to bring joy, dignity, and hope to the children at our orphanage and throughout the surrounding community in Port-de-Paix, Haiti. Through the donation of shoeboxes filled with essential supplies, school items, hygiene products, clothing, toys, and heartfelt gifts, many vulnerable children are reminded that they are loved and not forgotten.

On behalf of all the children and families touched by your support, we say thank you. May God richly bless everyone who has extended their resources, compassion, and prayers to help care for the vulnerable children of Haiti.

Progress is happening at Mercyland Christian Mission 🙏🏽

The first image shows where we are today—the current state of the school. The second gives you a glimpse of what’s coming—a vision of a new building that will change lives. The rest capture the steady steps we’re taking to get there.

This is more than construction—it’s building a future for children who deserve opportunity, safety, and education.

We’ll be sharing updates every week as the work continues. Thank you for standing with us, believing in this mission, and helping make it possible. 🤍

These beautiful girls are more than just faces at the orphanage—they are constant reminders of why this mission matters. Every time I’m on the property, they’re right there beside me, full of joy, laughter, and love. Their trust in me humbles me, and their admiration for what God is doing in their lives through this ministry is something I never take lightly.

They’ve come from difficult places, yet they carry so much strength and hope. Being in their presence isn’t just companionship—it’s a blessing. God is truly transforming lives here, one child at a time. ❤️🙏

Another precious life found safety yesterday… 💔➡️❤️

She is only 8 years old.

Before she ever had the chance to know her father, he passed away. And not long after, her mother left her behind at a neighbor’s home while she traveled to the Dominican Republic… never knowing the pain her little girl would endure.

What should have been a place of care became a place of abuse.

Thankfully, someone spoke up. The police were called, and this sweet child was rescued from a situation no child should ever face.

When she arrived at the orphanage, she carried more than just a small bundle of belongings—she carried fear, confusion, and wounds no child should have to bear.

But in that same moment, something beautiful happened.

She was welcomed with open arms… and given a special gift box from one of our ministry partners. A simple gesture, but to her, it meant everything. For the first time in a long time, she smiled.

A small smile… but a powerful one.

Please keep her in your prayers as she starts this new chapter of healing and hope. 🙏

She is only 11 years old… yet her story carries more pain than most of us will ever know.

After losing both of her parents, she was left in the care of her sick grandmother—doing her best to survive in a world that asked too much of a child. When there was no food, no help, no protection… she had no choice but to step into the streets just to stay alive.

The streets are not kind to children. They steal innocence. They harden hearts. They leave scars that can’t always be seen.

But today… her story is changing.

Today, she is no longer alone.

She has found a home. A place where she is safe, where she is loved, where she can finally rest without fear. At Mercyland Christian Mission, Inc., she is no longer just surviving—she is beginning to live.

That smile you see? It’s not just happiness… it’s relief. It’s hope. It’s the beginning of healing.

Please keep her in your prayers. And thank you to everyone who continues to stand with us—because of you, stories like hers don’t end in the streets… they begin again in love. ❤️
