They take care of putting food on our tables every single day, braving suffocating summer heat that exceeds 100°F (38°C) in Florida’s fields. Now, it’s our turn to look out for them. ❤️🌾

The threat of heat stroke is a daily reality, but together we can provide the lifesaving resources our agricultural community needs. Through the Farmworker Association of Florida (FWAF), every single dollar goes directly toward on-the-ground protection.

See the direct impact you can make today:
💧 $25 Level: Water & electrolytes for one week.
👒 $50 Level: Hats, cooling towels, sunscreen, and UV protection for one worker.
📦 $100 Level: Food, first aid, flashlights, and a weather radio for one family.
🌀 $250 Level: A comprehensive dual kit with cooling supplies plus hurricane essentials for a family.
🎓 $500 Level: Full FWAF-led health and safety training for 20 to 30 farmworker families.

No donation is too small when it comes to saving lives under the sun. Let’s protect the hands that feed us. ☀️

¡Haz tu parte hoy mismo! ☀️

What a great day! Over 40 people registered for the Lake Apopka Toxic Tour on Friday, June 12 starting at the FWAF Apopka office and going to the former Lake Apopka farmlands and Magnolia Park on Lake Apopka. The Toxic Tour included personal testimony by FWAF General Coordinator Yesi Ramirez and by former Lake Apopka farmworker, Ms. Linda Lee. With a great bus driver who maneuvered the bus in difficult places, the group learned about the environmental problems on the lake and the stories of the farmworkers exposed to pesticides. In the evening after the tour, everyone gathered at the FWAF office for a delicious Mexican meal and lots of comradery. THANK YOU SIERRA CLUB!

¡Demostremos nuestra gratitud a quienes alimentan a la comunidad!

✊️ Today is DACA day! We celebrate the DACA program that was created in 2012 that allowed people like our community member here who immigrated here as children to live fruitful lives without being persecuted for an immigration status they had no control over.
However, even though many DACA Americans (or Dreamers) have called this country home for decades by going through routine renewals every two years, recent changes to the immigration system have destabilized even the most protected immigration statuses.
Before this administration, existing Dreamers' statuses could be renewed in a month. Now, it can take 4-5 months or even be stuck at a standstill. Community members who have for years called this their only home, now face the fear that they will lose their protected status for an undecided amount of time.

We stand with DACA recipients all over the USA, and we want you to know that you are not alone. Together, we will fight for a more fair, more efficient, more humane immigration system that includes everyone.

🪴 Do you know where your houseplants come from?

Behind the lush and lucrative U.S. plant nursery industry lies a hidden crisis, where workers are facing severe labor and human rights violations that remain largely invisible to the public.

As one of the largest plant nurseries in the world, Costa Farms has the power to help set a new standard for the industry. That’s why nursery workers and WeCount! are calling on Costa Farms Costa Farms to Join Planting Justice and support safety and dignity at work.

Sign the Planting Justice petition to stand with nursery workers linked in our bio and written in the post above.

At FWAF, we will always stand with workers, and if you stand with us, you should sign too.

🎉 ¡Felicidades Cary!

🎉¡¡Felcidades Cary!!🎉
