Candy's Cats' mission is to save cats. Since 2005, our Central Florida rescue has given cats loving foster homes, medical care, and a forever home with you.
(2)

Nonprofit, no-kill, and run by volunteers who believe every cat gets a second chance. Since 2005, Candy's Cats has worked to save cats across Central Florida and place them in loving permanent homes. Every cat and kitten who comes through us is tested for FIV and feline leukemia, vaccinated, spayed or neutered, and microchipped. We partner with local vets to treat medical conditions and rely on a team of volunteer foster homes to give cats a soft place to land. Thousands of cats later, we're still at it. ADOPTION HOURS

The rummage sale is Friday, and this is the most interesting thing that's come in. ♟️

It's The Raj Chess Set by the Franklin Mint, from 1987, with its own table. The 32 hand-painted pewter pieces are the two sides of the Indian Rebellion of 1857: Queen Victoria's army on one side, an Indian king and queen with sepoy pawns in red coats on the other. The board is inlaid to look like Taj Mahal tilework, and the table's red felt drawers have a slot for every piece.

It's too nice for a folding table, so it's getting its own Marketplace listing. Link in the comments.

Everything else goes on sale Friday and Saturday, 8 to 2, at 307 W. Main St in Apopka. Still have something to drop off? Today and tomorrow, 1 to 4.

Every dollar goes back to the cats in our care.

It's Animal Shelter Appreciation Week, so this one's for the people who keep Candy's Cats running. 💛🐈

Our fosters, who have most of our cats living in their homes right now.

Our volunteers, who clean the cottage, run the Saturday events, answer your messages and are about to set up a two-day rummage sale.

Every one of us is a volunteer. If you've thought about joining us, fostering and volunteering each start with a short form. Links are in the comments.

Luna and Lucy are back. 🐈

These sisters were adopted from us as tiny kittens. Almost three years later, they ended up in a shelter. When we heard, we went and got them. It's Animal Shelter Appreciation Week, so thank you for keeping them safe until we got there.

They both turn 3 this month, and they'd love to spend the birthday in a home of their own.

Luna is the tuxedo and the social one. She loves attention and catnip, doesn't mind being held, and has started sleeping in bed with her foster mom.

Lucy is the white-and-tortie and the thoughtful one. She likes to check out a room before she joins the party. Once she does, she's sweet, easy to hold and very interested in your catnip.

Profiles and the screening form are in the comments.

Happy Halloween! Two things. 🎃🐈‍⬛

One: meet Eli. He's a year old, all black, and yes, his eyes really look like that. Daisy, Maple, Cory and Samba are waiting too, and the screening form is the first step for any of them.

Two: keep your own cats inside tonight. Doorbells, costumes and strangers on the porch are a lot, and a spooked cat will bolt through an open door.

And if you're out and about, rummage sale drop-off is open today 11 to 3 at the cottage. The sale itself is next Friday and Saturday, 8 to 2.
