A MESSAGE TO OUR MEMBERS OF VFW POST 5968 🇺🇸
First, we appreciate all the questions, comments, and feedback regarding the recent changes at our post. We understand that change can bring questions, so we want to provide some clarification.
🍻 HOURS OF OPERATION
Our updated weekend hours are:
Monday-Thursday
Friday & Saturday: 10:00 AM – 11:00 PM
Sunday: 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM
These hours are our regular operating hours, but they are not set in stone! We will ALWAYS adjust when it makes sense for the post and our members. For example, this past Sunday for the Jaguars game and Auxiliary Brunch, when we will be opened at 9:00 AM! 🏈🍳
🗳️ NEW VOTE-INS
The following officers were voted in at our last meeting:
Commander – E. Rosemond
Senior Vice Commander – C. Bimson
Junior Vice Commander – T. Meighen-Mazur
Please join us in supporting them as we move forward together!
💲 PRICE CHANGES — WHY CHANGE PRICES AGAIN?
Our goal is to make pricing reflect the actual cost of the products we serve. This doesn't automatically mean everything will cost more. In fact, some drinks could actually become cheaper!
For example, if one bottle costs us $23 and another costs $30, the more expensive bottle might actually allow us to offer a lower price per drink. We want our pricing to make sense for the post while continuing to provide value to our members.
🤝 COMRADE VS. MEMBER
Why do we use the word comrade?
A comrade is a companion or fellow member who shares an experience, a struggle, or military service. The VFW has a long history of using this term, and we believe it represents something more meaningful than simply being a member.
At Post 5968, we want everyone who walks through our doors to feel like more than just a member. We want you to feel like a friend, a companion, and part of our family.
We're here to share good conversations, enjoy meals, celebrate life's victories, and support one another through the difficult times — whether that's sickness, loss, a bad day, or a difficult memory.
That's what makes a VFW more than just a building. It's the people inside it. It's knowing you have a place where you're welcomed, cared about, and supported. 🇺🇸
📣 YOUR VOICE MATTERS — GET INVOLVED!
All the changes discussed in the original post were voted on at our last meeting. These decisions were made through the voting process, with the best interests of our post in mind.
We take feedback seriously, whether it comes through a phone call, Facebook comment, email, or a conversation at the bar. We may not always agree on every decision, but we absolutely want to hear from you.
The BEST way to make a difference is to ATTEND MEETINGS and PARTICIPATE IN FUNCTIONS.
Your involvement matters. The more members who participate, the stronger our post becomes.
We know change isn't always easy, but we're excited about the future of VFW Post 5968 and what we can accomplish together.
Thank you for your support, your service, and everything you do for our post. Let's keep moving forward, together! 🇺🇸💪
