In March of 2020 while the whole world was shut down, Karla And I felt led to try and impact transportation in Clay County. We were inspired by Patrick and the team at Mercy Support Services and actually thought we were just going to support their efforts. Turns out God had bigger plans! We started using our own funds and soon found a few supporters. We were even an initial grant recipient from 100 Women Who Care About Clay County and Clay Electric Co-op. Those grants helped us get started and we are proud to say that after that we were able to primarily self sustained through donations of vehicles and a portion of the sales revenue from the Repair Shop. We are also extremely grateful to have transferred more than 100 vehicles to those in need or our partner organizations, and completed over 1000 repairs at free or reduced cost. We know that we have honored our initial call!

That said, the time for the foundation has come to an end. Its a highly complex effort (which is why you just dont see it done.) So effectve 3/1/2-26 we will become inactive as a charitable organization. That doesnt mean Karla, Me, or Mike will stop doing good in our community and world. It will just be through different avenues.

Mercy Auto our Shop on Peoria Road remains open and one of the highest rated Auto Shops in the region (Thank you) also the affiliated Auto Dealership Simply Drive on Blanding Blvd is active as ever.

God is good all the time. Thank you Clay County and all of our partners !

Hello everyone! First I want to say that we LOVE our community and are constantly reminded of Gods goodness to us through YOU. We know that our community continues to have transportation needs and we have been honored to be involved in meeting some of those. We do want to announce that we are not actively taking on new clients at this time. While we know that is not ideal, resources are extremely low and we have stepped away for a short time to seek God and His sovereign will for Mercy Auto Charitable Foundation. Thank you so much for your patience and grace as we take this time to LISTEN. Keep moving forward! We love you!

The story of a car. ***warning long post. I know we have not posted in quite a while, lots of reasons - the price of cars, the cost of getting reliable transportation on the road and frankly that our day jobs resumed in full force post pandemic. We started this foundation to “keep Clay moving” and the story of this car is so powerful.

18 months ago, this was one of the more than 90 vehicles that have passed through our hands into the community. Not all have worked out great but that is not the mission or the goal. We are to be generous and love others. The young man who received this vehicle - who was referred by a partner charity in Clay County (it was donated and had about $1500 in repairs done prior) drove it to his new job, he took care of it, changed the oil, watched the gauges for overheating and worked hard. He overcame a number of obstacles and then showed up at our door to “donate” the car back for someone else (cue the waterworks.) Tomorrow this beauty will hit the road again (after about another $900 in safety repairs) to serve someone else and the circle continues. God is good and he is working. I know we have been quiet but we are still here with open hands.

FREE TRANSPORTATION

You can ride for free this month with Clay Community Transportation throughout and out of Clay County! Provided through the Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA), you can pick up a CCT shuttle from any one of the several stops throughout our county to get where you need to go.

Need a lift but you're not located near a stop? That's where the CCT flex service can help. Flex service allows for passenger pick-ups (route deviations) as time is available in the schedule for locations that are as far as 3/4 of a mile off of the Flex Route. You can see the Flex Routes on the route maps and get more information on our website.

We don’t always understand or have the words to convey how broken this world is but we have a Savior who conquered death so that we can LIVE both here on earth and in heaven with our Lord. Jeff was our original board member. He was passionate about loving God, loving people and he loved what we did here at Mercy Auto. He led us and loved us so well. You will be missed here on earth but we will see you whole and well in heaven.
Please pray for his sweet family as they navigate life here without him.

The Mercy Auto Mission

Mercy Auto Since 2020

Clay County, Florida is 644 square miles. This vast land area creates a mandatory requirement for transportation and with no busing infrastructure, getting to and from work is nearly impossible without a car.

Over the years, we have had the opportunity to support others specifically through transportation. No matter where we were (our travels have taken us all across the US) We have seen the impact it can have on individuals and families. Recently, through volunteer opportunities we have been apprised of how great the need is here in our home County.

Our Mission is simple. Mercy Auto is here to impact the transportation needs of Clay County, Florida. Mercy Auto will provide access to high quality, inspected, affordable, reliable transportation with a goal of increased access to anyone pursuing self sustainability.
