One of the co-founders, Mayor Jacques Gilbert, and Chair, Aaron Snead, of the Mayor’s Substance Misuse Task Force stopped by our community partner, Walmart, to showcase the essential items that make a meaningful Dignity Bag for local recovery centers.

Every item helps restore hope and dignity for someone on their recovery journey.

The Apex Mayor’s Substance Misuse Task Force had a great time this morning connecting with our community — and we’re still here at our tent, ready to educate, support, and chat with anyone who stops by!

Come learn about local resources, ask questions, or just say hello. We’re here for YOU!

Last night the Apex MSMTF gathered together for a yearly dignity bag drive. Each year we create hundreds of bags with toiletries and supplies that we bring to local organizations for those struggling during this time of year! This year we included members of the community to help and also grew the organization’s we reach by twice as many as last year. Spearheading this mission, Erica, Ben and Aaron have done an amazing job alongside the rest of the team as well!

This past weekend Apex Friendship student Chase organized a recovery awareness event and movie for the community. It was well received with support from Wake Monarch Academy and Healing Transitions. Apex continues to break the stigma around addiction and promote the necessary conversation! Thank you Chase!
