💙 Walking Together. Holding Hope.

This past Saturday, September 26, HopeLine was proud to join the Out of the Darkness Community Walk, standing alongside survivors, families, volunteers, advocates, and community members united in support of su***de prevention and mental health awareness.

The messages throughout the day said it beautifully: Your story isn’t over. Your presence matters. Thank you for being here.

We’re grateful to the American Foundation for Su***de Prevention and everyone who walked, volunteered, shared their story, or simply showed up.

Reflecting on Construction Su***de Prevention Week 💚

During Construction Su***de Prevention Week, September 14–18, 2026, HopeLine Executive Director Keri Christensen had the opportunity to connect with construction professionals at Durham Technical Community College and the Red Hat Amphitheater construction site to talk about mental health, su***de prevention, and the importance of seeking support.

Special thanks to Sean Reynolds of Athletic Training Solutions for coordinating these events, and to the teams from Skanska at Durham Tech and the CMJV team of Skanska, Clancy & Theys Construction Company, and DA Everett at Red Hat Amphitheater for prioritizing their workforce well-being.

The construction industry is disproportionately affected by su***de, making conversations like these important not only during awareness week, but year-round. By checking in on one another, reducing stigma, and encouraging help-seeking, we can help save lives.
