Your life can only be as full as you allow it to be. When you empty yourself of distractions and things that don't come from God, you create space for His abundance. What needs to go so God can move in?

Sometimes life feels like too much and we feel like we have too little. In 2 Kings 4, a widow told Elisha she had nothing, then remembered one small jar of oil. That jar was all God needed.

So as you start this new week may you offer Him what you have and trust Him to give you what you need, because not enough is exactly where He loves to start.

Join Us in Spruce Pine: Rebuilding Trip, Nov 1-5 🏠

Since Hurricane Helene hit Western North Carolina in September 2024, United Church has had a recurring presence in Spruce Pine, helping neighbors recover from its devastating impact. The rebuilding is still underway, with hundreds of requests for help coming in to our partner organization, Baptists on Mission.

Our next serving team departs after worship on Sunday, November 1 and returns Thursday, November 5.

What to expect:
🔨 Tasks may include debris clean-up or rebuilding (floors, walls, insulation, painting)
🛏️ Room and board is provided at the work site
🤝 All skill levels welcome

Together, we can help families get back into their homes before the coldest winter months.

God has already given you everything you need. The question isn't whether He'll provide, it's whether you'll dig. What ditch is God calling you to work on today?

We’ve all been there. Things were moving forward, the plan made sense, and then suddenly everything stalled. Resources dried up. Momentum disappeared. And in the silence, we wondered, “Did God bring me this far just to let me fail?”

In 2 Kings 3, three kings marched into battle only to run out of water seven days into their journey. Their strategy was falling apart, and they had not sought God before they started. They launched first and prayed later.

Sound familiar? Whether it’s a decision about money, a relationship, your career, or your family, it’s easy to move forward on our own and only turn to God when things get hard. But that moment isn’t a reason for shame. It’s an invitation to turn back to Him.

Your greatest need doesn’t have to be a dead end. It can become the very thing that draws you closer to the One who has the answer. The dry season you’re walking through may be where you learn to depend on Him most deeply.

God had not abandoned those kings, and He has not abandoned you. He is still present and faithful. Turn to Him, not as your last resort, but as your first response. 'tTakeAnymore
