Detective Nolan Schafer of the Anderson Police Department wins the July 2026 Community Hero Award

Det. Schafer was assigned to investigate a missing persons case, which usually turns out to be non-criminal. This missing person’s lifestyle indicated this was likely the case. Det. Schafer, however, chose to aggressively investigate and after interviewing countless individuals and reviewing hours of video, he identified foul play. Det. Schafer ultimately located the victim’s body and a suspect was identified. His work was so strong that the suspect plead guilty and received a 60 year sentence.

The MCLEF Board of Directors wishes to CONGRATULATE Det. Schafer for his dedicated service and outstanding accomplishment.

The Frankton Police Department would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the Frankton American Legion for stepping up to host the Community Benefit Dinner & Raffle in support of Officer Robert "Bobby" Cox.

Their generosity, compassion, and commitment to helping one of our own during an incredibly difficult time truly exemplify what community is all about. It is because of organizations like the American Legion and the many volunteers working behind the scenes that events like this are possible.

We also want to thank everyone who has donated items, volunteered their time, and plans to attend. Your kindness and support mean more than words can express.

Please join us this Saturday, August 8, from 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM at the Frankton American Legion for a great meal, raffle baskets, and an opportunity to help Officer Cox and his family as they rebuild.

Together, we are proving that when one member of our community is facing hardship, Frankton stands together.

Thank you, Frankton American Legion, for your incredible support and for making this event possible. We are truly grateful.
