🦋 Sometimes the little things mean the most.

Recently, one of our CASA advocates received this butterfly tattoo from a child she serves.

To most people, it might look like a simple temporary tattoo.

To a child, it was a way of sharing something special with someone they trust.

The relationships built between CASA advocates and the children they serve are often found in moments like these—not in courtrooms or meetings, but in the small, ordinary interactions that help children feel seen, heard, and valued.

A butterfly on a hand may only last a few days.

The impact of a trusted adult can last a lifetime. 💙

💙 Some advocates travel miles to keep showing up.

Children in foster care are sometimes placed far from their home community. But distance does not change the need for connection, advocacy, and someone checking in on how they are doing.

CASA advocates make those trips because children still deserve to be seen, heard, and supported — no matter where they are placed.

Monthly gifts through the ECI CASA Case Supporter Circle help support travel reimbursement so advocates can continue visiting children placed far from home.

Because advocacy should not stop at county lines. 💙

One thing we’ve learned?

Life doesn’t stop being life just because a child is involved in the child welfare system.

There are still birthdays.
Ball games.
Field trips.
Lost teeth.
Art projects.
Dreams.

The hard stuff may be part of their story.

But it shouldn’t be the only thing people see. 💙

June is PTSD Awareness Month. 💚

Trauma can leave lasting effects that aren’t always visible. Many children who have experienced abuse, neglect, loss, or instability carry emotional wounds long after the events themselves have passed.

At East Central Indiana CASA, we believe every child deserves a caring, consistent adult who will listen, advocate, and help them feel seen, heard, and supported.

This month, we recognize the importance of understanding trauma, extending compassion, and creating safe environments where healing can begin.

Because healing happens through connection, support, and hope.

💚 Every child deserves someone in their corner.

Last Saturday’s 2nd Annual Jack Lutz Memorial Golf Outing benefiting CASA was a BEAUTIFUL day and we received so much love and support there from our community.
We have many, many “thank you’s” to say.

We are grateful first of all to the Anderson Noon Exchange Club ’s dedicated golf outing committee members and wonderful volunteers, as well as the staff at Grandview Golf Course, who put in so much work to ensure everyone had a wonderful time. Thank you for all that incredible generosity with your time and talents!

We also want to thank the Lutz family and our 18 teams of golfers who tee’d off with us and played so well they kept the competition tight. Congratulations to Team Brossart, our champions who had a very close call to receive first place!

💙 One child’s journey can include many chapters.

Court hearings. New schools. Placement changes. Hard transitions. Moments of uncertainty.

For many children, the journey through abuse, neglect, and the court system is not a short one.

But CASA advocates keep showing up.

They stay present through the changes, continue advocating, and walk alongside children every step of the way toward safety, stability, and hope.

By joining the ECI CASA Case Supporter Circle, your monthly gift helps ensure advocacy continues without pause.

Small monthly gifts make a lasting difference. 💙

During a child visit this week, one of our kiddos proudly told his GAL that he had finished his rookie season of baseball. As they talked, he shared that he really wanted to improve his batting skills.

So he handed over a glove and a baseball and asked his GAL to pitch to him.

What started as a conversation turned into time spent practicing, encouraging, laughing, and building confidence.

Now he’s already looking forward to the next visit so he can show off how much he’s improved.

The little moments matter. Sometimes the most meaningful connections happen over a game of catch, a walk through the park, or simply showing up and taking an interest in what matters to a child.

That’s the power of a CASA
