Major Capers’ extraordinary courage, selfless leadership, and unwavering commitment to his fellow Marines during combat in Vietnam exemplify the very best of our Armed Forces. His actions under fire saved lives and inspired generations of service members who followed in his footsteps.

For decades, many believed his heroism deserved the Medal of Honor. That long-overdue recognition has finally been bestowed upon a warrior whose legacy of sacrifice, resilience, and leadership continues to inspire our nation.

Since June 14, 1775, America’s Army has stood as a symbol of strength, resilience, and commitment to defending our freedoms. From the battlefields of the Revolutionary War to today’s global missions, Soldiers have embodied the Army Values and carried forward a legacy of honor that spans more than two and a half centuries.

For nearly 250 years, the American flag has flown over battlefields, first responder stations, schools, homes, and communities across our nation. It represents the courage of those who have defended our freedoms, the resilience of those who serve, and the values that bring us together as Americans.

At Palmetto Front Line Foundation, we proudly stand behind the men and women who serve under this flag and those who continue serving their communities as veterans, law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMS personnel, and dispatchers.

Something to watch closely!!!

The Take Care of America’s Veterans Act (H.R. 9237 / S. 4744) is a major veterans’ legislative package introduced in June 2026 by the chairmen of the House and Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committees. It combines more than 60 bipartisan veterans bills into one comprehensive proposal intended to improve VA health care, benefits, and services for veterans, survivors, and military families.

Key Provisions:

The bill includes several high-profile measures, including:

* The Major Richard Star Act, which would allow certain medically retired combat-disabled veterans to receive both military retirement pay and VA disability compensation without offset.
* The Veterans’ ACCESS Act, aimed at improving access to VA health care.
* The Love Lives On Act, which expands benefits for surviving spouses.
* The Sharri Briley and Eric Edmunson Veterans Benefits Expansion Act, along with dozens of other veteran-focused reforms.

Why Many Veterans Support It:

This summer, the SC7 Expedition Team will spend 30 days crossing South Carolina, coming off the traditional route at times to visit some of the most significant sites in our state's Revolutionary War history as part of the America 250 commemoration.

Today, the Palmetto Front Line Foundation pauses to honor the courage, sacrifice, and unwavering determination of the Allied forces who stormed the beaches of Normandy on D-Day.

On this day 82 years ago, thousands of brave service members faced unimaginable danger in defense of freedom. Many never returned home, while countless others carried the physical and emotional scars of war for the rest of their lives. Their actions changed the course of history and secured liberties that generations continue to enjoy today.

As we remember the heroes of the Greatest Generation, we are reminded that freedom is never free. Their legacy lives on through every service member, veteran, and first responder who continues to answer the call to serve others.

Please join us in honoring the men who fought on the beaches of Normandy and all those who have worn our nation’s uniform.

June is PTSD Awareness Month, a time to recognize the invisible wounds carried by many of our nation’s heroes and their families.

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder can affect active-duty military members, veterans, law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMS personnel, dispatchers, and others who have experienced trauma in service to their communities and country. While the scars may not be visible, the impact is real.

At Palmetto Front Line Foundation, we are committed to supporting those who serve through outdoor nature therapy programs, outreach initiatives, and su***de awareness and prevention training. We believe that healing happens through connection, purpose, and community.

This month, we encourage everyone to:
✅ Learn about PTSD and its effects
✅ Check in on a friend, coworker, or family member
✅ Break the stigma surrounding mental health
✅ Seek help when needed and encourage others to do the same

No one should have to face their struggles alone.
