Proud to celebrate Farmworker Awareness Week! 🚜🌾

Ever wonder how your favorite fresh food makes it to the table? Meet the incredible parents of our Steele Center kids.

From the fields of Blount and DeKalb to the nurseries of Jefferson and St. Clair, these hardworking neighbors are the backbone of Alabama agriculture. Whether they are harvesting cotton, managing poultry, or planting peanuts, they work tirelessly to ensure we all have safe, affordable, and fresh food every single day.

📸 Meet Audilia—one of the many dedicated mothers picking fresh produce in the fields near our center. We are so grateful for her hard work and the heart she puts into everything she does!

Let’s show some love for the hands that feed us. ❤️👇

Dear Community Members and Partners,

The Association of Mexicans in North Carolina, Inc. (AMEXCAN) invites you to participate in our North Carolina Latino Community Task Force (NCLCTF) meeting. It will take place on Monday, November 10, 2025 at 11 a.m. EST. Zoom information is available below.
This month, we are honored to welcome Chas Edens, Project Coordinator for the NC Conservation Outreach Project at NC State Extension/NC FarmLink, an NRCS-supported initiative. With a background in horticulture and farmer engagement, Chas leads field days, demonstrations, and partnerships that help producers adopt conservation practices while opening pathways for youth into conservation careers.
During this month’s meeting, Chas will provide an overview of the Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) and how landowners can leverage its support to improve their land. He will also share insights on how youth can pursue conversation careers through agencies like NRCS and offer an honest perspective on working with or for the NRCS during a federal government shutdown. The meeting will conclude with a Q&A discussion to address participants' questions.
Zoom details: Meeting ID is 854 5318 1372 | Passcode is 2025.
The meeting link can be found here.
Please share this invitation only with trusted individuals to ensure a secure and productive session. Should you have any questions or require further information, feel free to contact us at [email protected] or [email protected].
