The mission of PFLAG Anderson is to promote the health and well-being of LGBTQIA+ individuals, their families, and allies through support, education, and advocacy. We believe that every person deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, and equality, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. We strive to create a safe and inclusive community where everyone can thrive and be their authentic selves. We accomplish our mission by providing resources, fostering dialogue, and promoting policies that advance equality and justice for all LGBTQIA+ individuals and their families.

We are so excited to announce that our first Virtual Monthly Meet-up is happening this Thursday, October 15th at 7 PM! We know not everyone can make it to our meetings and events, and this is a way we can connect with community outside of our in-person hangouts.

On the 3rd Thursday of every month, we will host a meet-up via zoom. Just like our in person meetings, this is open to everyone: members of the LGBTQ+ community, friends, families, and allies!

October 11th is National Coming Out Day! In 1988, this day was created by Robert Eichberg and Jean O’Leary on the one year anniversary of the National March on Washington for Le***an and Gay Rights to show support for the LGBTQ+ community.

To celebrate, PFLAG Anderson is hosting an Escape Room and Social on Sunday, October 11th!

We will meet at Exit 4 Escape Rooms Anderson at 5 PM for our escape room. After we (hopefully) escape, we will head over to Magnetic South for food and drinks and then finish the night at Growler Haus!

You are welcome to join us for both the escape room and social, or if you want to just join us for the social, we would love to see you!

Our in person Monthly Meet-up is this Thursday, October 8th at 7 PM!

Due to recent concerns, we now ask that anyone under 18 be accompanied by a legal parent or guardian.

As always, our meetings are open to anyone LGBTQ+, friends, and allies.

We hope to see you Thursday evening! If you can’t make it this week, stay tuned for an announcement about our virtual meetings starting this month!

We’ve heard your requests, and we are so excited to say that next month will start our PFLAG Anderson Virtual Monthly Meet-Ups🙌🏼

These meet-ups will happen once a month, just like our in person meetings. We need your help to decide when these meetings should take place each month!

Please note that registration for the meet-ups will be required to protect everyone who attends. You will only be allowed into the meeting if you have registered. The link to the meeting will be shared to you after you register. We will share more details once we have a final date!

Let’s have a picnic! 🧺

Join PFLAG Anderson for our Picnic In The Park gathering on Sat, Sept. 19th starting at 10am. We’ll be going to Singing Pines Recreation Area to enjoy the water, good food, and good company. The monthly Walk with PFLAG will be included as well.

Bring something to share for our potluck. Pets are allowed on a leash. Admissions is $7/car, and interested folks can reach out to PFLAG Anderson for coverage.

Our Monthly Meet-Up is Thursday, September 10th!

September marks the end of PFLAG’s fiscal year, so at the start of our meeting we will be sharing updates from the past year on everything we have done, as well as share with you what we are looking forward to for the next year!

If you’ve never been to a PFLAG meeting, this is a great one for you to get to know us and our mission!

Hey PFLAG Anderson fam!

We’ve got some exciting events coming up, and want to make sure you mark your calendars😎

🍁September 10th is our Monthly Meet-Up, and since September marks the end of our fiscal year, we will be having our annual meeting at the start of our meet up. This is where we share updates from the past year on everything we have done, as well as share with you what we are looking forward to for the next year!

🍁September 19th we are having a picnic at Singing Pines in Starr! Bring your snacks, blankets, sunscreen, and swim wear if you want to swim! Since our monthly walk is typically scheduled for this day, we will have a group walk at Singing Pines🫶🏻more details to come.

🍁October starts our virtual Monthly Meet-Ups! We know not everyone can make it to our in person meetings, so we will be hosting a virtual meet-up once a month. Date is TBD, and registration will be required. Keep checking our socials for more updates!

🍁October 11th is National Coming Out Day, and we’ve got an exciting event planned to celebrate. Keep your calendar clear and get ready for a fun escape😉

PFLAG Anderson loves to support our local theaters. The PFLAG Anderson board is planning to attend the Heathers musical performance at Electric City Playhouse on Friday, August 21st, at 7:30 PM.

And we will be giving away 3 tickets to 3 lucky winners for the August 21st show🙌🏼

Please note: giveaway is only open to those 18 and up due to the themes in the show.
