The Lord & Lady Trapper title is a way to recognize people who have spent years giving their time, talent, and energy to their community.

The tradition began with the first Lord Trapper in 1981 and the first Lady Trapper in 1997, but now we’re looking for the 2027 honorees. Nominations close November 1. Submit yours at furrondy.net.

Did you know our King & Queen Regent titles are unlike any of our others within the Rondy Royalty? The Kind & Queen Regent are selected and crowned by the Pioneers of Alaska. They represent our state's adventurous spirit and rich history. These esteemed individuals are honored for their deep roots in Alaska and serve as living reminders of our pioneering past. During the 2026 Fur Rondy festival, we were honored to have King Regent Gordon Severson and Queen Regent Linda Rinard serving within our Royal Court. Maybe they're the person who volunteers every weekend, mentors young people, supports local nonprofits, or always finds a way to bring neighbors together. Those are exactly the kinds of people who embody what it means to be a Fur Rondy Lord or Lady Trapper.

If someone came to mind while you were reading this, we'd love for you to nominate them. Their story deserves to be celebrated.

One of the most inspiring parts of Clara Baldwin's reign as Fur Rondy Queen has been watching her help make Fur Rondy more welcoming for everyone.

As the first profoundly deaf Fur Rondy Queen, Clara showed that leadership is about breaking barriers, building connections, and creating opportunities for others. Her dedication to community advocacy and accessibility has left a lasting impact on the festival and Anchorage.

Who has inspired you to think differently about leadership? We'd love to hear their story in the comments.

Applications for the next Fur Rondy Queen open NOW at furrondy.net.
