Did you hear? Deb is retiring! 🎉

Her last day with Nine Star is this Wednesday, the 15th - and while we knew this day was coming, we’re still having a hard time believing it’s already here. 🥹

Many of you may have had the chance to celebrate with Deb at our Annual Picnic, but we want to take another moment to recognize someone who has given so much to our Nine Star family and the Mat-Su Region.

Deb’s dedication to serving others has been nothing short of remarkable. From her work in Education to coaching and supporting individuals through Employment, she has brought passion, encouragement, and heart to everything she does.

Thank you, Deb, for the countless ways you have made a difference. Your impact will be felt long after your final day, and you will always be part of the Nine Star family.

The countdown is over! We are just hours away from celebrating our incredible Anchorage's Center for Workforce Excellence (CfWE) graduates.

These individuals have put in the hard work, mastered their training, and are ready to enter and advance in the workforce. This major milestone wouldn’t be possible without the phenomenal support of our community partners, employers, and training collaborators.

Join us tonight to cheer them on, celebrate their achievements, and welcome them into their next big chapters! 🚀

Join us this Thursday at 7:00 PM at our Anchorage CfWE location: 125 5th Avenue, Aleutian Classroom - as we recognize the hard work, dedication, and achievements of our students as they complete their training and take the next step into the workforce.

This milestone is a reflection of not only our graduates’ commitment, but also the incredible support of our instructors, employers, and community partners who help make these opportunities possible.

The Center for Workforce Excellence Director, Abe Hernandez, just wrapped up a productive trip to Bethel! It was a great opportunity to meet with the Association of Village Council Presidents and Yuut Elitnaurviat to discuss workforce development needs and explore new opportunities to expand remote services across the region. We’re excited about the partnerships taking shape and look forward to working together to increase access to education, career readiness, and workforce development opportunities for communities throughout Western Alaska.
