Death often brings fear and uncertainty but understanding what to expect and what needs to be done afterward can bring stability, grounding, and a sense of control during an otherwise overwhelming time.

Join us to learn about the universal dying process so you can recognize the physical and emotional changes that occur at the end of life and walk through the essential practical steps that follow a death. Being informed helps reduce panic, prevents unnecessary stress, supports healthier grieving, and allows families to focus on connection rather than confusion. With knowledge and preparation in place, you can navigate this heavy experience with more confidence, clarity, and peace.

Tuesday, March 31 6:30-7:30PM
2612 E. Northern Lights Blvd.

Registering is preferred but not required. Call 907.561.5322 or email [email protected] to sign up. No cost to attend.

We are super excited about our first fiscally sponsored project, End-of-Life Options Alaska, who will be working to provide education and encourage public discussion about Medical Aid in Dying (MAiD) and build support for making this compassionate options available to terminally ill adults in Alaska.

Grief doesn’t only begin after a loss — it can show up long before, especially when you’re caring for a loved one whose health is declining. We understand how overwhelming and isolating that experience can feel.

Whether you’re navigating the emotional weight of caregiving or preparing for the loss of someone you love, you’re welcome here. Regular attendance is encouraged but never required. Come whenever you need a moment to breathe, connect, and feel supported.

Great podcast with great one of our own.

As we head into the new year, a new episode of the HPNA Palliative Perspective Podcast is here.

In this moving episode we welcome Esther Pepper, RN, BSN, CHPN®, a veteran hospice nurse from Alaska whose more than two decades of compassionate service have shaped her debut memoir, My Calling: Chronicles of an Alaskan Hospice Nurse.

Join us for a heartfelt conversation that celebrates the courage, compassion, and calling behind hospice work—and the enduring lessons learned from those at life’s final threshold.

Thank you so much to everyone who participated in our 9th Annual Palliative Care Alaska Netwrok Symposium this year!! It was great seeing many familiar faces, but also a significant amount of new faces as well!

A special thank you to the PCAN board members who made this event possible, and the phenomenal presenters who shared their “whys” and palliative care lpassion with us all!

This year was a symposium to remember!

If you see yourself in one of these photos please feel free to tag yourself, or share on your page-perhaps include something new you learned this year at the symposium! We’d love to grow our PCAN community and spread the word on what amazing things PCAN has in store for many more years to come!
