OC Community Cats

OC Community Cats OC Community Cats is dedicated to help heal the stray cat crisis of OC thru TNR & colony care. We formed in January of 2015. Can you foster kittens?

We at the OC Community Cats are devoted to the care and well being of the Community Cats of North Orange County. We spay/neuter homeless cats (TNR), rescue friendly cats and kittens off the streets and provide food and veterinary care. But we are a small organization and we need your help to grow and help more cats! Can you help with TNR/Trapping? Can you donate for food and supplies? We hope to h

(monthly donations are incredibly helpful!)

Thank You for Caring for Kitties! We at OC Community Cats want to acknowledge an organization which has helped us tremendously over the past year - OC SPCA. Without their assistance with spay/neuter vouchers, we could not have accomplished TNR for over 300 cats in 2015! A BIG THANK YOU TO OC SPCA! https://www.facebook.com/OrangeCountySPCACalifornia/?fref=ts

We also want to acknowledge OC SMALL PAWS and MEOOWZ RESQ - 2 wonderful adoption groups who have placed many of our rescued kittens & cats. THANK YOU OC SMALL PAWS & MEOOWZ!!! https://www.facebook.com/smallpawsanimalrescue/

HIGHLIGHT OF 2015:

We did not set out to become an activist organization, but when the city of Anaheim enacted a cruel feeding ban in January, we could not stand by while cats were starved. We implemented a campaign to create public awareness and press coverage. After receiving hundreds of emails and phone calls and seeing our petition with over 40,000 signatures, the city has modified the feeding ban so it is no longer illegal to feed on private property unless causing what they define as a ‘nuisance’. This is a great improvement but our work is not done! The city has invited us to partner with them in the creation of humane policies and new programs. We will be helping them set up humane guidelines and developing spay neuter programs - but we are just a small group of volunteers, so now that we have been offered this amazing opportunity to make a meaningful impact, we need other experienced individuals and organizations to participate. We could use your help with everything from Project Management, Fundraising, Community Relations and Social Media, to Feeding, Fostering and TNR! As long as you care about kitties, you can help! This is a truly wonderful opportunity to not only help the desperate kitties of Anaheim & OC, but to also create a new kind of cooperative partnership with city government! This could well serve as a model for other cities across the county and the country! Together, we can make the most of this unprecedented opportunity to help Community Cats!

URGENT, IMMEDIATE HELP NEEDED FEEDING THE HOMELESS CATS IN ANAHEIM & FULLERTON. We provide the food!

Some of our volunteers have had to step down and we really need some help to ensure the colonies we care for are fed every night.

Help is needed immediately in the following areas:

WED & THU NIGHTS near St. College & La Palma, Anaheim

WED & EITHER TUE OR THU NIGHTS near Lincoln & Manchester, Anaheim

TUE NIGHTS near Raymond & Orangethorpe, Fullerton

We do not expect someone to do all of this. We hope to get a few volunteers so that each one can take one evening a week.

We provide all the food, you take it to the cats, give them water, observe the colony and report to your team by text. The cats are so grateful to see you with the food. It's very satisfying and heartwarming volunteer work.

You should be 18 or older, or have an adult parent or guardian to accompany you.
You need to have reliable transportation as you will have to carry bags and cases of cat food and jugs of water, plus a few other supplies.

If you live fairly close by and can help, please send a text to our business line at 714-866-8075 or email [email protected].

THANK YOU AND PLEASE SHARE.

URGENT - 2-3 FOSTERS NEEDED FOR THE TREE BABIES!

Meet the Tree Babies - Rowan, Cassia, Sequoia, Fir & Cedar. These precious 3 to 4 month-old kittens were rescued from an out of control colony in Anaheim. They have already been fixed and received their first vaccinations, as well as flea treatments.

We have been told by the colony caretaker that kittens don't usually last long there, so with the help of Feline the Love, we are trying to find fosters for these babies.

Rowan was trapped first and he is already super friendly and sweet. He would do well in a house with other friendly, playful cats.

Cassia & Sequoia are little girls and still very shy. Fir & Cedar are little boys and they are also quite shy. But everyone seems to be receptive to human contact. We don't have much room for them, so they are paired up in small crates. We are taking baby steps to initiate human contact.

Ideally, two fosters to take a pair would be the best. They need fosters who are patient and accustomed to socializing kittens who were born outside. Because Rowan adapted so quickly, we think these four will also.

If you live in or near Orange County and you can take a pair, or Rowan, please email our Foster Coordinator at [email protected]

They can't live in tiny crates and we don't want to put them back outside.

Thank you and please share.

HELP FOR HALLOWEEN JACK!

Halloween Jack, he's a real cool cat..... Who has something going on with his eyes.

Halloween Jack is a member of the neglected colony in Anaheim, where Stardust came from. If you click on the 3rd photo, you will see him as we found him, he had a terrible mange infestation.

He was given medication in his food & the mange was cured, but then we noticed that there was something going on with his eyes. They are cloudy and that could be from any number of things from high blood pressure to cataracts to infections. He also needs to be fixed and vaccinated.

He eluded trapping for quite a while. Finally, he was trapped yesterday by one of the employees of the company where he hangs out. We lent her a trap, showed her how to use it and she got him!

Halloween Jack Is now safe with us, and has a vet appointment in a few days. He is going to need a lot of diagnostics done and we don't have an estimate yet. At the very least he will need blood work, blood pressure check, eye exam. Hopefully he is healthy enough to be neutered and vaccinated. He may need a referral to veterinary ophthalmology.

Anything you can contribute toward his bill would be greatly appreciated. Here are ways to donate:

🐾 FOSTER NEEDED FOR ROWAN ASAP 🐾 OC or nearby

Meet Rowan. ❤️

This handsome boy was recently brought to safety and has already been neutered and vaccinated. He's around 4 months old and is still taking in all the changes around him.

Everything he has known has suddenly changed, and right now he simply needs a quiet, patient foster home where he can learn that people are kind.

We're looking for an experienced foster willing to give Rowan the time he needs to settle in and let his true personality shine.

He is starting to show a gentle, loving nature. He is purring, leans in for scratches & goes elevator butt with long strokes down his back. He needs room to play & a warm lap for snuggles.

Could you be the person who changes Rowan's future?

Please email [email protected] if you can help, or share this post to help us find the perfect foster

FOSTERS NEEDED IMMEDIATELY

Meet Hope, Joy, Chance, Promise & Brave. ❤️

A frightened young mama and her four 8-week-old kittens are living in a dangerous location, and they desperately need a safe place to land.

Mama Hope is a beautiful calico who has never known what it's like to feel safe. She's very shy and will need patience, kindness, and time to learn that people can be trusted.

Her babies are already playful, and curious, but at 8 weeks old, their socialization window is closing quickly.
Every day they remain outside makes it a little harder for them to grow into confident, loving family cats.

We are looking for about three foster homes so we can bring this little family to safety as soon as possible. If you're able to foster the entire family together, we'd love that too!

This family has survived more than they ever should have. They shouldn't have to survive another day outside.

Hope has done everything she could for her babies. Now it's our turn.

Could you be the person who changes their story?

If you can foster—or even share this post—you could be the reason this little family gets their happy ending! Thank You!

Please email: [email protected] for more information on fostering or foster-to-adopt

STARDUST UPDATE 7/25/26

Stardust went to the vet today. She had a thorough examination, blood work done, and it was determined that she is an unfixed female. She did great for her exam and was very sweet. She does have mange and she is FIV positive. We'll have more blood work results soon. She has been treated for the mange and for worms. She is looking better already.

Stardust was moved to a boarding facility near the director of Feline the Love. She will continue her treatment and be given lots of love and attention while she is there. Once she is healed, she will be fixed & vaccinated and then up for adoption. A foster home may be needed in between.

She will NOT be going back to the neglected colony in Anaheim. From what we observed, she was at the bottom of the pecking order and it would be hard for her to thrive there. Plus she is sweet and just wants love. Friendly cats should not go back on the street whenever possible.

We are still working with Feline the Love on helping this colony.

We still need a couple people to help feed & water the cats on the weekends. Food will be provided. This is pretty urgent. We have someone who will feed today but we don't have anybody for tomorrow. The business is feeding the cats during the week.

Once the cats are healthier, we will start doing TNR.

If you want to help feed, trap or Foster as applicable, please reach out to us here or text our business line 714-866-8075.

Thank you so much for your donations to help. So far her bill for the vet today was covered. There will be additional needs for vet care, food & TNR.

THANK YOU SO MUCH. WE ARE SO GRATEFUL!

URGENT - FOSTERS NEEDED IN or NEAR OC! CAN YOU HELP THIS FAMILY?
They are Walter's babies.

4 kittens need to be rescued off the street ASAP.
There were 5, but one of them was killed by a coyote.
We are not sure of Mom's temperament, but she can be TNR if feral.
The kittens should not have to live there.

There were many of you who reached out wanting to help with Bobbie Gentry. If we could get two of you to take two kittens each, we can rescue these babies.
We are partnering with Feline the Love on this rescue.
All food and vet care will be covered.

If you would like to Foster two or more kittens, please send an email to [email protected]
You can also message us here or text our business line 714-866-8075.
You should be in or near Orange County because that's where our vets are.

Thank you and please share.
