OC Community Cats

OC Community Cats OC Community Cats is dedicated to help heal the stray cat crisis of OC thru TNR & colony care. We formed in January of 2015. Can you foster kittens?

We at the OC Community Cats are devoted to the care and well being of the Community Cats of North Orange County. We spay/neuter homeless cats (TNR), rescue friendly cats and kittens off the streets and provide food and veterinary care. But we are a small organization and we need your help to grow and help more cats! Can you help with TNR/Trapping? Can you donate for food and supplies? We hope to h

(monthly donations are incredibly helpful!)

Thank You for Caring for Kitties! We at OC Community Cats want to acknowledge an organization which has helped us tremendously over the past year - OC SPCA. Without their assistance with spay/neuter vouchers, we could not have accomplished TNR for over 300 cats in 2015! A BIG THANK YOU TO OC SPCA! https://www.facebook.com/OrangeCountySPCACalifornia/?fref=ts

We also want to acknowledge OC SMALL PAWS and MEOOWZ RESQ - 2 wonderful adoption groups who have placed many of our rescued kittens & cats. THANK YOU OC SMALL PAWS & MEOOWZ!!! https://www.facebook.com/smallpawsanimalrescue/

HIGHLIGHT OF 2015:

We did not set out to become an activist organization, but when the city of Anaheim enacted a cruel feeding ban in January, we could not stand by while cats were starved. We implemented a campaign to create public awareness and press coverage. After receiving hundreds of emails and phone calls and seeing our petition with over 40,000 signatures, the city has modified the feeding ban so it is no longer illegal to feed on private property unless causing what they define as a ‘nuisance’. This is a great improvement but our work is not done! The city has invited us to partner with them in the creation of humane policies and new programs. We will be helping them set up humane guidelines and developing spay neuter programs - but we are just a small group of volunteers, so now that we have been offered this amazing opportunity to make a meaningful impact, we need other experienced individuals and organizations to participate. We could use your help with everything from Project Management, Fundraising, Community Relations and Social Media, to Feeding, Fostering and TNR! As long as you care about kitties, you can help! This is a truly wonderful opportunity to not only help the desperate kitties of Anaheim & OC, but to also create a new kind of cooperative partnership with city government! This could well serve as a model for other cities across the county and the country! Together, we can make the most of this unprecedented opportunity to help Community Cats!

BBC NEEDS TO RETIRE FROM STREET LIFE - OC OR NEARBY

***WARNING - PHOTOS 3 & 4 ARE GRAPHIC***

BBC (Big Black Cat) Is a very handsome neutered male cat from one of our managed colonies. Recently he injured himself badly and had to be trapped and the wound stitched up. This is actually the 2nd time he has done this in 6 months! Last time was October 2025.

We are not sure how he is injuring himself, but we are very concerned that it will happen again and we will not be able to catch him. It was very difficult to get him this time and now he is extremely trap savvy.

So it is time for him to retire and get off the street. We are looking for a kind person who is willing to give him a home, either indoors as a house feral, or in a catio.

If you don't have an existing catio, we can purchase one like the one pictured here. We can build it and mount it on a platform that has locking caster wheels so it can be moved if needed. We can provide any other supplies or equipment that are needed, as well as food, litter and any future vet care. You would simply be the long-term Foster, responsible for daily food and water, health monitoring, cleaning litter box & catio, and ensuring he is safe.

If you would like to help BBC in this way:

You should be in or near Orange County, CA

Have a secure backyard with a covered patio

Be able to go in & out of a small door ( about 4' tall & 18" wide)

Or be willing to let him be in your house as a house feral. He would need to start in a small room for several months.

If you can help BBC, please contact us here, or send an email to [email protected]
Or text our business line 714-866-8075

We will be posting a fundraiser for him later. We're waiting for the vet to finalize his vet bill.

Thank you!

Hi, I’m Kona 🐾

I’ve spent my life as a community kitty, but I’m ready for my next chapter — the one where I discover just how wonderful indoor life can be!!!

I’m young, friendly, sweet, and affectionate, and my rescue volunteer says I have all the makings of an amazing housecat.

What I need now is a special foster human who can help me learn the good life: soft beds, cozy naps, playtime, patience, and lots of love.

Someone willing to get to know me, help me feel safe, and show me what it means to truly belong.

The good news? My rescue team will provide all my vet care, food, and litter.

All you need to provide is a safe place for me to land while I wait for my furever family to find me.

In return, I promise purrs, companionship, adorable moments, and the chance to watch me blossom into the spoiled housecat I was always meant to be. 💛

Could you be the person who changes my life forever?

If you’d like to foster me please email [email protected] to learn more about how fostering for OC Community Cats works and to get a foster application.

OOGIE BOOGIE UPDATE

He is staying at the ER over the weekend. Getting supportive care. He's being fed with an NG tube. Today he will have an ultrasound. The bill posted here is today's bill. The one we posted yesterday was just for his first 24 hours. So you can see, it's very expensive, but he needs the care and services they provide.

Hopefully he'll continue to be stable. Hopefully there won't be anything really bad on the ultrasound. The plan is to move him to our primary care vet Monday morning.

If you are able to help with his medical care, here are ways to donate:

HELP FOR OOGIE BOOGIE! HE'S AT THE EMERGENCY ANIMAL HOSPITAL!

Oogie Boogie is a sweet, loving hunk of a kitty. He's usually cheerful and cuddly. His foster parents noticed he was lethargic, constipated, and did not want to eat.

He went to the vet today and after blood work was done, it was discovered that he is in liver failure! They are not a 24-hour facility, so we had to take him to the emergency animal hospital for the weekend.

The bill posted here in the 2nd photo is just for the first 24 hours. There will be more charges after tomorrow. He will see our regular vet on Monday morning. We are praying that he will improve over the weekend.

If you can help toward Oogie Boogie's vet bills, we would be so grateful. We haven't even included what was charged today earlier and we have no idea what the bill will be like when he goes to our regular vet on Monday.....

Anything will help. Here are ways to donate:

MS. ROGERS UPDATE (photos of her in better times)

Our dear Ms. Rogers is still at the ER. She has some lung contusions & a broken jaw.

She was on oxygen, but has been weaned off & is breathing pretty normally.
She is being kept comfortable with pain meds & is being syringe fed.
Monday morning she will be transferred to one of our primary vets to have the broken jaw repaired.
She will stay there a few days, then she will come home to recover with one of our volunteers. She will be in a small crate, because that is the only space we have for her.

After that, we do not want to release her back to the dangerous alley. There are 2 more cats there who also need minor vet care, and to get out of there for good.

If anyone in the Orange County area or close by is willing to open their home & their heart to Ms. Rogers, and perhaps some of her companions, please reach out to us. We are willing to purchase a movable catio that fits nicely under a covered patio. The 3 of them could live out their days together in peace & safety.

We would be happy to provide any vet care that is needed, and even food and litter help is needed with that. Look for another post soon featuring her friends Hershey & Teddy.

We are so grateful to all of you who donated toward her care. So far we have been able to cover most of it and our primary vet is going to do the surgery at a very good discount.

Please keep good thoughts for Ms. Rogers. Thank you
