OC Community Cats OC Community Cats is dedicated to help heal the stray cat crisis of OC thru TNR & colony care. We formed in January of 2015. Can you foster kittens?

We at the OC Community Cats are devoted to the care and well being of the Community Cats of North Orange County. We spay/neuter homeless cats (TNR), rescue friendly cats and kittens off the streets and provide food and veterinary care. HIGHLIGHT OF 2015:

We did not set out to become an activist organization, but when the city of Anaheim enacted a cruel feeding ban in January, we could not stand by while cats were starved. We implemented a campaign to create public awareness and press coverage. After receiving hundreds of emails and phone calls and seeing our petition with over 40,000 signatures, the city has modified the feeding ban so it is no longer illegal to feed on private property unless causing what they define as a ‘nuisance’. This is a great improvement but our work is not done! The city has invited us to partner with them in the creation of humane policies and new programs. We will be helping them set up humane guidelines and developing spay neuter programs - but we are just a small group of volunteers, so now that we have been offered this amazing opportunity to make a meaningful impact, we need other experienced individuals and organizations to participate. We could use your help with everything from Project Management, Fundraising, Community Relations and Social Media, to Feeding, Fostering and TNR! As long as you care about kitties, you can help! This is a truly wonderful opportunity to not only help the desperate kitties of Anaheim & OC, but to also create a new kind of cooperative partnership with city government! This could well serve as a model for other cities across the county and the country! Together, we can make the most of this unprecedented opportunity to help Community Cats!

WANT TO HELP HOMELESS CATS FROM THE COMFORT OF YOUR HOME?

OC Community Cats Is looking for a couple people in the East Anaheim and Fullerton areas who are willing to help store and distribute food to our volunteers, so we can feed the homeless kitties.

You should be very organized and you need to have a garage that is pest free and secure in which to store bags of dry food and cases of wet food. When one of our volunteers needs food, we send them to you to pick up the food. You will keep an inventory and inform the volunteer coordinator of your inventory each time an order is made.

In most cases, we will ship the food to you, but you may have to pick it up sometimes from Sam's Club or PetSmart.

We feed over 250 homeless cats each day. Having organized people who can store and distribute the food is a critical part of our organization. If you would like to help us in this way, please text our business line 714-866-8075.

URGENT HELP NEEDED FEEDING HOMELESS CATS IN ANAHEIM!

One of our long-time volunteers is having surgery soon & help is needed feeding some of the colonies in Anaheim. We need people on board by Friday. 10/16/26.

😺 Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays: 1 feeding spot near State College & Placentia Ave (ideally 2 - 3 people to do 1-2 nights each)

😺 Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays: 2 feeding spots near State College & Lincoln (ideally 2 - 4 people to do 1-2 nights each)

We provide all food. You bring the food and water to the cats and report to a team of volunteers by group text.

You should be 18 or older, or have an adult to accompany you.

These are outdoor cats. They are generally fed between 5 :00 to 8:00 p.m.

You do need a reliable vehicle because you will be carrying bags and cases of cat food, as well as jugs of water and things to serve it in and some cleanup items.

Right now this is a temporary volunteer situation for about 6 weeks, but it could become permanent if you are able. She could really use some help because she's been handling all this by herself for many years.

URGENT! VOLUNTEER CARETAKERS NEEDED IMMEDIATELY!

We need volunteers to feed on Tuesday & Thursday nights in Anaheim. Very easy place to feed near St. College & the 91 fwy.

We provide the food, you take it to the cats and report to a caretaker team by group text. The cats are usually fed around 8:00 or 9:00 p.m.

You should be 18 or older and have your own transportation as you will have to carry jugs of water, bags and cans of food, and things to serve it in.

If you can do this, please text our business line 714-866-8075. Does not have to be the same person doing both nights. If we could get two people each doing one night, that would be amazing.

REST IN PEACE, CHORIZO

Sadly, we found one of our community cats deceased in the street today.

His name was Chorizo, and he was found a couple streets over from his safe colony, on a street that has a lot of big trucks 24/7.

He was neutered and we don't know why he had wandered over to this unsafe area. We are so sad that he did. Most of the cats do stay put, but he did not last night. We will never know why. We just know that he is gone.

He is from the same place as Graybie, so that makes two kitties from the same colony in about 2 weeks time. We've lost 4 cats in the last month. This is the hardest part about being an animal rescue of any type, but especially community cat welfare.

Most of these cats are feral and their colonies are their homes. We do all we can to take care of them at their colonies. We provide food and water, we give them medical care when they need it. If they are friendly we get them off the street, but if they are feral they are most happy in their current environment.

We always pray that they stay put and don't wander into unsafe areas, but there really is no way to control that. We do the best we can.

Rest easy, beautiful, chunky Chorizo. We are sure that Graybie was waiting for you at the rainbow 🌈 bridge 🐾🐾 💕 🐈

As we do with all of our community cats, one of our volunteers took his body to a low-cost vet for a private cremation. We will scatter his and Graybie's ashes at the colony where they lived.

SWEET OLD LADY SAPPHIRE, FELV+ BUT STILL SPUNKY
Please help us with her vet bill & ongoing care.

You may recall Sapphire from last year when she was trapped and given vet care. She was ultimately released because she seemed to improve and be able to take care of herself at the managed colony where we provide food and water everyday and look after the cats.

But recently, Sapphire has taken a big downturn. She became very wobbly and fell over several times. She had a lot of trouble eating. She was weak and listless. She was still interested in food, so we were able to trap her and get her to the vet. She had to be hospitalized for a couple of days for supportive care. See invoice.

She had a terrible flea burden and was very anemic. It was also discovered that she is FELV positive. Right now she needs a lot of rest, soupy food, some supplements, Sub-Q fluids and love. She is currently in a small crate with one of our volunteers who has the medical experience to care for her, but we hope that she will improve enough that she can move on and be fostered in a regular home for the time she has remaining. We will update you on her, as she improves.

SWEET PEA NEEDS A FOSTER or ADOPTER. Located in North OC.

Sweet Pea and a couple similar looking cats recently showed up at one of our managed colonies. Sadly, this happens a lot. People see that we feed cats and they just let their pets that they can't care for go, because they think they'll get fed and they'll be okay outside.

But it is not safe for cats that are not used to being outside to be there. The other two were skittish, but Sweet Pea was so friendly. We got him out of there and we are working on getting the other two.

Sweet Pea is going to a temporary Foster, but he needs something longer term. He really is a good boy. So friendly and charming. He uses his litter box like a champ, and he has been fixed and vaccinated. Also treated for fleas and worms. He is adoption ready! He was with a lot of other cats at the colony so we assume that he will get along with other cats with proper introductions.

REST EASY, SWEET GRAYBIE (GRAY KITTY)

Sorry we have been quiet for the past several days. This is not the outcome we had hoped for with the gray kitty we secured the other night.

It turned out this was Graybie, a kitty who had been at one of our colonies for a long time, but had been very elusive of late. She was taken to the vet and it was discovered that she had an enormous tumor on her jaw that was eating away the bone and was basically untreatable. The best we could do was to relieve her of the pain & give her a peaceful passing.

Fly free, sweet Graybie. Look for Grayson, Puff, Socks, Smudgyface, Silver, Sad Girl, Goldman, Gus, Striper, and all the other kitties from the colony who passed on before you.

You will never be forgotten and you will always be loved.

Amazing Foster or Foster-to-Adopt Family Needed!

Calle is one of those special cats who has a way of touching your heart. She spent her early life as a colony cat, surviving outdoors, so no one quite knew what to expect when she came inside. But this sweet girl surprised everyone. In only about a week, Calle began showing trust, seeking affection, playing with toys, and letting her gentle, loving personality shine through. She is incredibly smart and seems to understand very quickly that indoor life means safety, comfort, and people who care about her.

Calle is young, healthy, playful, and affectionate, but what makes her especially remarkable is how far she has already come in such a short time. For a kitty who came straight from life on the streets through TNR, her willingness to trust people is pretty amazing. She may need a little patience as she settles into another new environment, but once she feels safe, there is a wonderfully sweet girl waiting to come out. Calle has already shown us that she is ready to leave colony life behind and discover what it means to be someone’s beloved family member.

Hello to all of our amazing followers, donating angels, friends and community cat supporters!

We have a new fundraising campaign started and would love it if you could donate, share, and help us with some of our vet bills.

As most of you know, we care for hundreds of community cats throughout the Orange County area in California. With that comes A LOT of medical care besides just spaying and neutering!

We have sick kittens, injured cats, dentals, medications, testing, emergencies and sometimes much bigger medical needs. We have cats who need help NOW, and we don't want the amount of money currently sitting on our vet bills to be the reason we have to say no.

And you all know us...we really hate saying no.

So we're asking for some help getting those bills paid down so we can keep saying YES to the next cat who needs us.

HI, I'M CIRRUS. WILL YOU HELP ME GET NEUTERED & VACCINATED?

I'm an amazing 4 month old sweetheart. I was dumped near an OC Community Cats managed colony. I was scared & hid in an abandoned building. Then I got even more scared and I started crying.

A nice lady brought food & rescued me. I've been living with her, but she says some day I'll have a "forever home." That sounds so nice!

Now I am old enough to get my vaccines and be neutered. Can you help with that? We are trying to raise $120 to cover the costs. My appointment is in a couple of days.
