Another Anacortes Waterfront Festival is in the books, and what a weekend it was! ⛵️

For 35 years, this event has brought our community together to connect, celebrate, and enjoy all that makes Anacortes special. With live music, delicious food, artisan goods, boat rides & races, commercial vendors, and nonprofit exhibits, the waterfront was energized all weekend long.

The Waterfront Festival Committee is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join us for this year’s Waterfront Festival on June 6–7!

As a thank-you for your time, the WFF Committee will donate $10 per hour to a non-profit organization or fundraiser of your choice for every shift you volunteer. It’s a great way to support a cause you care about while being part of something special!

We're still buzzing over the Non-Profit Showcase Luncheon last week! 💙

18 local nonprofits gathered in one room to share the incredible work they’re doing throughout Anacortes and beyond. Attendees had the opportunity to spend the first half hour connecting directly with each organization, exploring displays, learning about community impact, and discovering ways to get involved.

The luncheon then transitioned into a roundtable discussion where each nonprofit had the chance to further share their mission and current initiatives.

Last week, we had the honor of celebrating something truly special with a ribbon cutting for the new Birthday Closet at The Salvation Army, Anacortes, WA . 🎂

What began as an observation during the holiday season became a meaningful way to support local families year-round. While the Salvation Army receives an incredible outpouring of gifts at Christmas, they recognized that every child deserves to feel celebrated on their birthday too.

The Birthday Closet helps make that possible by redirecting overflow donations into a dedicated space where families can access birthday gifts for their children throughout the year.

The Salvation Army of Anacortes continues to show what community care looks like in Anacortes, and we’re grateful for all they do to support local families with compassion, dignity, and heart.
