Serenity Thomas Foundation Serenity Thomas Foundation is a 501c3
- to raise awareness for Pediatric Cancer & provide scholarships for special needs service

The Foundation holds an annual Serenity Princess Ball in Anacortes WA as the primary way to serve our community. We have a family friendly, inclusive dance event to raise funds for scholarships to residents of Skagit and Island counties going into the fields of special needs or related services. We've added the cause of Pediatric Cancer Awareness 3 years ago, making our 1st donation to Camp Korey

in Mt.Vernon in 2019. This event began in 2016, six months to the day our daughter Serenity died at age 16 of BALL or B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. It was so sudden, occuring 10 days after diagnosis, that many of her peers missed the funeral as it happened in the first week of August during summer break. So we started this Ball in her memory, to acknowledge our community for the outpouring of condolences that her death generated and to help in healing the grief. We created the Ball around all the things she loved - her love of laughter and being with people, all things Disney (especially Princesses), sparkly things, lots of music, dancing and giving gifts to folks. So - at the actual Ball we dress as Royalty, have "guests" from Enchanting Events appear, have a DJ for music to dance to, tables of food and drink, craft tables, a wishing wall, a face-painter, make-up and hair stylists, and a sparkly photo booth to capture the memories. The favorite activity serms to be 3 tables of raffle items to bid on that are donated by our local businesses and generous individuals. The Ball has changed over the years to be an all inclusive, family friendly event where we reach out to include the differently abled community especially, as we always hoped for more fun events that community could participate in. It is also a way to thank the many specialists who helped Serenity become the best person she could be, hence the scholarships to help those wonderful people achieve their dream.
