A Sno-Park is coming to Franklin Falls for the 2024/2025 winter season!

In partnership with Washington State Parks, the MBS will operate a new non-motorized Sno-Park at the Franklin Falls trailhead/parking lot. There will be enough parking for up to 100 cars, a restroom, space for snow play, and a marked snowshoe route to Franklin Falls.

As a precaution, always check road conditions before heading to Franklin Falls. Please also note that the mountain environment along I-90 and beyond the snowshoe route can be hazardous, so proceed with caution. Join Skagit Land Trust Friday this Friday, October 7th at Cumberland Creek Conservation Area. We'll be maintaining a trail and removing invasive blackberry. This is a beautiful property right along the Skagit River with several trails to walk on.

Kick started our autumn wolverine monitoring field season with a gorgeous day on Mount Rainier with We were incredibly lucky to see a wolverine. S/he was not an individual we could identify so we think it’s one of Joni’s kits from this year, or possibly a totally new wolverine to the South Cascades. We’ll be out in the mountains trying to figuring out who they are. See Gretchen’s post for a photo.

Join us Tomorrow Oct 4th from 5-8 PM at Stoup Brewing in Seattle to celebrate the release of “Save the Snake River Lager.” This beer is a collaboration between our WA Brewshed® Alliance Program and 50 brewing industry businesses across Washington, Oregon, and Idaho. This beer is a message to our NW elected officials: Now is the time to support and recovery with a comprehensive plan to remove the four Lower Snake River dams.

This large-scale regional collaboration was made possible thanks to Stoup Brewing, , and the Washington Brewshed® Alliance. This is a 100% Salmon-Safe beer with malt generously donated by Skagit Valley Malting.
