We had over 100 rowing registrants and lots of spectators at this year’s Mighty Merrimack Rowing Race. Here’s a glimpse of the day, which had beautiful weather for our passionate crews and visitors. A boat needs to be leveled, blocked up, tweaked, nudged, propped… and accessible. The molds are still in for now, until the last planks (two lapped strakes per side) are riveted in.

Pepper’s work to restore these windows is just plain beautiful. Here’s a sneak peek at the progress so far. We’ll probably have an in-depth conversation with her about all the methods she’s used and approaches she’s taken, as each window has presented its own challenges. The objective is to preserve character, not to fully restore.
