Our next meeting will be on Friday, April 17. Donald Kom, the Director of City of Ames Electrical Services will speak
about plans for solar and wind energy as well as big changes in recycling. If you’d like to come, please RSVP as soon as possible to Deb Russell at [email protected] to make sure there’s enough food for lunch. We meet in the Green Hills Dining Room-the food is ready at 11:45am!

Our club prepared and served the meal at Food at First recently. Head chefs Kris and Doug Meinhard planned the menu including beanburger, fresh fruit, applesauce, cucumber salad and a variety of desserts!

We had Tillman Schieffer and Noah Shin join us at last week’s meeting. We sponsored Tillman’s attendance at last year’s HOBY state workshop and Noah’s attendance at this year’s state workshop. HOBY is a youth leadership organization that identifies leadership abilities of high schoolers and helps them apply those skills to their communities. They shared how valuable this workshop was to them and thanked our group for sponsoring them. We’re glad we can help make a difference in these young men’s lives!

Wow-what a fantastic 65th Pancake Days we had this weekend! Thanks to all who came out and supported Kiwanis as we improve the world one child and one community at a time! We also thank Fareway for their sponsorship and Fareway Frank for helping us out on Saturday!
