November is Homeless Awareness Month. 💙

Throughout the month, we’ll be sharing information about homelessness and housing instability in our communities, challenging common misconceptions, and recognizing the people and partnerships working to help our neighbors find stability.

NEMCSA’s Homeless & Prevention Services work with individuals, families, and young adults experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Support can include homelessness prevention, shelter diversion, street outreach, transitional housing, rapid rehousing, and connections to additional resources, depending on individual circumstances and program eligibility.

Homelessness isn’t always visible, and no two housing crises look exactly the same.

This month, we invite you to follow along, learn with us, share resources, and help us create a community where everyone is treated with dignity and compassion. 💙

Earlier this month, during White Cane Awareness Day, BAISD specialists Kim Kernstock and Kelly Ballard visited one of our BCL classrooms to teach children about visual impairments and the experiences of people who are visually impaired. Through hands-on activities, the children gained a better understanding of how people with visual impairments navigate daily life. Thank you to BAISD for providing our children with this valuable learning opportunity!
