The Lehigh Valley Community Foundation and the Estate Planning Council of the Lehigh Valley are co-hosting an informative afternoon on Thursday, October 15, featuring Ryotaro (Ryo) Tashiro, Regional Economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia. Designed for Estate Planning Council members and other professional advisors, the program will examine the economic outlook, labor market trends, inflation, and monetary policy, providing valuable perspectives to help inform financial and estate planning conversations with clients. The event will take place from 1:30 to 5:00 p.m. at Northampton Country Club in Easton and will include opportunities for professional networking.

The summit brings together leaders from business, government, philanthropy, and early childhood education to explore solutions to Pennsylvania’s childcare challenges—from sustainable funding to employer partnerships.

Their participation connects LVCF’s work in the Lehigh Valley with a statewide conversation about strengthening childcare for children, working families, and the employers who depend on them.

The Lehigh Valley Community Foundation (LVCF) has released a Request for Proposals for an Impact Strategy & Evaluation Consultant.

The Lehigh Valley Community Foundation has been a leader in charitable giving in the Lehigh Valley for more than 58 years. Over the last ten years, the Foundation has grown significantly to become one of the largest funders in the Lehigh Valley, with over $140 million in charitable assets under management. LVCF distributes over $9 million in grants annually to over 400 nonprofit organizations, including around $1.3 million directed through unrestricted funds. Through these unrestricted funds, our proactive grantmaking and community engagement areas have been early childhood, nonprofit capacity building, and significant leadership and community-building activities, while we have also provided significant responsive grantmaking and staff time to support food access.

As we prepare to make deeper and wider impact, we invite qualified consultants to submit an Interest Short Form by Wednesday, October 14, 2026, to help build a long-term impact strategy and measurement framework that staff, board, donors, and partners can understand and act on. We want a partner who will push our thinking with new and unexpected ideas, not only confirmation of what we already do. The budget is $40,000–$60,000, with all deliverables completed by August 2027.

The Lehigh Valley Community Foundation is launching the Trusted Response Fund: Phase II, a grantmaking opportunity for nonprofits navigating today's changing environment.

This year, the fund is focused on catalytic funding, meant to provide the resources for change rather than cover day-to-day costs.

Mrs. Camilla Greene passed away on Saturday, August 8th, 2026.

Mrs. Camilla Louise Church Greene is the embodiment of love and justice. Although she has passed, her spirit lives on with all those she has impacted in the Lehigh Valley, and well beyond.

She contributed to the Lehigh Valley Community Foundation by supporting our board and staff in our own equity and belonging work. She also facilitated our Project Equity work during a tumultuous time in our community and nation. She remained a partner and a supporter of the evolution of our work well beyond that moment.

Her parting gift to the team leading CORE, was her participation in our recent learning series. As a lifelong learner, she joined a cohort that was convened on the foundations she'd built with us years before. Mrs. Camilla loved several of our staff members and has mentored them along their own journeys of liberation, a gift that has rippled far beyond the bounds of their work. She left an imprint on us too deep to capture here. It will be carried on for generations to come.

Ms. Camilla inspired, and may we dare say, mandated, an ongoing practice of reflection, learning and action. Therefore, as we honor her life, we want to uplift this question offered by our partner Bart Bailey, for our community to respond: Because I loved Camilla, what will I carry forward?
