LVCF’s Director of Communications, Michael Wilson, recently attended On Common Ground: The Need for Robust Reporting in the Lehigh Valley, an event that brought together community leaders, engaged citizens, and regional stakeholders for an evening of meaningful conversation and connection on May 14 at the home of Richard and Susan Master in Bethlehem. The program opened with remarks from David Erdman and featured a thoughtful discussion between former Congressman Charlie Dent and Spotlight PA CEO and President Christopher Baxter. The conversation explored the critical role strong local journalism plays in fostering civic engagement, accountability, and informed communities throughout the Lehigh Valley.

The evening concluded with an engaging audience Q&A session that encouraged meaningful dialogue about the future of regional reporting and its impact on the community. LVCF was proud to serve as a year-long sponsor of the Estate Planning Council of the Lehigh Valley’s outstanding slate of programs. Yesterday, Erika — past president of EPCLV — along with members Trisha, Maureen, and Michael Wilson attended the organization’s annual meeting at SteelStacks.

The event included the transition to new leadership and administration, followed by an informative presentation by Richard W. Nenno and Vincent C. Thomas on the State Income Taxation of Trusts. The session provided valuable insight into the increasingly important area of estate and trust planning, including how and when states impose taxes on trust income and the constitutional considerations that determine whether such taxation is valid. Thank you to EPCLV for another exceptional year of education, collaboration, and professional engagement.

The CORE Learning Series is underway! We’re excited to welcome this cohort of nonprofit and community leaders into a space for reflection, connection, and meaningful conversation. In a time of increasing pressure and complexity, this group is choosing to slow down, build relationships across difference, and explore how leadership can advance equity and justice in our communities.
We’re excited to see what emerges. ✨
