Voices of Progress are on the move!

Today, our incredible team of volunteers came together for our Annual Report Packing Party, and we could not be more grateful for their dedication and positive energy. With enthusiastic hands and wonderfully joyful spirits, they diligently stuffed, signed, and stamped several hundred reports—which are officially on their way from the post office to your homes right now!

We are endlessly proud of all that our Malawian staff, leaders, and communities have accomplished over the past year. Every page of this report reflects their strength, resilience, and extraordinary achievements—made possible through the faithful support and generosity of our VIP family.

Climate unpredictability is threatening the heart of Malawi’s harvest—and our partner farmers need us now. El Niño cycles bring severe dry spells, erratic rainfall, and extreme heat. With maize supplying two-thirds of the country’s calories, prolonged droughts put entire harvests and millions of lives at risk.

With extreme weather events becoming more frequent and severe, proactive planning is crucial to protecting communities, supporting our team, and ensuring long-term resilience.

Here’s how talented VIP staff on the ground is actively preparing:
Early Warning & Monitoring: Tracking real-time updates and climate forecasts to stay one step ahead.

Resource Readiness: Delivering drought-tolerant seeds and expanding solar irrigation systems ahead of time.

Community & Team Support: Equipping our local staff and partner farmers with the tools, guidance, and safety measures needed to navigate disruptions smoothly.

This isn't just about risk management—it's about reliability, resilience, and looking out for one another. And as VIP Malawi's Livelihoods Coordinator Frank Mwenjemeka shared, the biggest hurdle isn't strategy—it's having the resources to put these life-saving adaptations into action.

Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of a faithful supporter, the new girls' dormitory at One Heart Secondary School is officially complete!

Preparing with Faith & Action in Malawi

With El Niño conditions threatening the upcoming growing season with low rainfall, VIP is staying close to Lead Farmers and the climate-smart agriculture approach.

"The Lord will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands." — Deuteronomy 28:12

As we pray for seasonable rains, we are equipping farmers to protect their harvest through:
✅ Drought-Resilient Crops: Prioritizing crops like cassava and sweet potatoes.
✅ Soil Conservation: Using techniques to trap every drop of moisture.
✅ Early Preparation: Selecting early-maturing seeds to stay ahead of dry spells.

Faith and preparation go hand in hand. Together, we are building resilient communities ready for whatever the season brings.
