🐄 From Flood Relief to Sustainable Hope — Cow Bank Program ❤️

Last year, following the devastating floods in Central Vietnam, the Teri & Charlie Foundation Charlie Nguyen Diem Chau Nguyen donated $11,150 to help families with immediate relief and recovery.
Wanting their support to go beyond short-term assistance, Teri & Charlie approached Tam Ky Project with an idea: Could we create a sustainable program where one gift could continue helping family after family? That idea became our Cow Bank, a reciprocal giving program. ❤️

To bring this idea to life, the Teri & Charlie Foundation donated an additional $10,000 specifically to fund the Cow Bank pilot program, bringing their total contribution toward our Central Vietnam flood relief and long-term recovery efforts to $21,150.

After months of research, planning, navigating government permitting requirements, and working closely with our local partners, we are excited to officially launch the program.

Through this pilot, six families facing significant financial hardship were carefully selected to each receive a cow. The recipients include single mothers raising young children and families caring for children or elderly loved ones while living on limited or unstable incomes.

For these families, a cow is much more than a gift, it is an opportunity to build a more stable and sustainable future. As the cows reproduce, each participating family will pass on a calf to another family in need, creating a continuing cycle of opportunity and giving back.

The distribution day was filled with joy, gratitude, and hope. Seeing the excitement on the families’ faces made all the months of work and challenges behind this program worthwhile.

What began as disaster relief is now becoming something more lasting: a path toward sustainable livelihoods and families helping other families.

We are deeply grateful to the Teri & Charlie Foundation for their generosity, trust, and vision, and for giving Tam Ky Project the opportunity to pilot this meaningful program.

🐄❤️ One cow. One family. One opportunity — passed forward to another.

Dr. Daniel Nguyen, chị Denise Pham, PharmD & Sons Dylan and Derin — Star Dental — Vietnam Mission, June 2026 ❤️

We are deeply grateful to Dr. Daniel, chị Denise, Dylan, and Derin for their generosity and continued commitment to supporting communities in Vietnam. Their family donated $14,300 toward our 2026 programs, including $8,800 for their June mission in Quảng Nam. The remaining funds will support cancer patients at Quảng Nam Hospital this October for Cancer Awareness Month—an annual project close to their hearts.

During their June visit, the family personally helped bring these projects to life:

💖 Bắc Trà My
20 new bicycles and 5 scholarships were given to students from disadvantaged families, helping ease their daily journey to school and encouraging them to keep pursuing their dreams.

💖 Trà Linh Commune, Nam Trà My
A long‑awaited clean‑water well was completed for the community. The family also delivered gifts for 450 students and parents—school supplies, hats, snacks, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and personal‑care items.
Each of the 108 ethnic minority families received essential farming tools (hoe, machete, crowbar) and a package of basic food items.

💖 Phú Ninh Rehabilitation Center
This 200‑square‑meter center provides therapy for nearly 50 children with disabilities, all from families facing significant hardship.
Dr. Daniel, chị Denise, Dylan, and Derin visited the center and provided a nutritious lunch, along with essential support such as diapers, nutritional milk, and financial assistance for each family—deeply meaningful for children who require extensive daily care.

The joy of students receiving bicycles, the relief of families seeing clean water flow, and the gratitude across each community were powerful reminders of the impact compassion can create.

Thank you, Dr. Daniel, chị Denise, Dylan, and Derin for giving so generously and for traveling to Vietnam to personally connect with the children and families you support. Your kindness brings hope, dignity, and lasting change. ❤️

Announcement: Tam Ky Project Gala Update

To better support our programs throughout the year, we have decided to move our annual fundraising gala to the spring.

As a result, we will not be hosting a gala this fall. This change allows us to better align our fundraising efforts with our annual programs and create an even more meaningful event.

Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to celebrating with you next spring and will share the official date and venue as soon as they are confirmed.

CLEAN WATER PROJECT — NƯỚC SẠCH HỌC ĐƯỜNG

In loving memory of Ông Phạm Hiển, anh Hai & Natalie Ton (Natalie Ton) donated $1,000 to install a complete water filtration system — a 2‑column filter, semi‑industrial RO purifier, and 500L storage tank — for 50 kindergarteners at Điểm Trường Mẫu Giáo Hương Trà in the rural highlands of Bắc Trà My, Quảng Nam.

For years, these children faced daily risks from contaminated water and the illnesses it causes. That cycle ends today. Students, teachers, and parents finally have access to clean, safe drinking water. Thank you for helping make their dream come true❤️

Hello friends,
I wanted to let you know that I’ve been locked out of my Facebook account. Unfortunately, I didn’t use my real birthday on FB, so they couldn’t verify my identity even after I sent them my ID. I’m currently in the appeal process and will keep you posted as soon as I hear back.
In the meantime, you can reach out to me here on Instagram. We also have a wonderful volunteer who will be posting updates about our charity work more regularly, and I’ll still be checking in often.
Sorry for any inconvenience if you couldn’t reach me on FB. Thank you for your understanding and continued support for Tam Ky Project! 🙏
P.S. Please make sure to use your real birthday on Facebook to avoid this kind of verification issue. It can be really hard to fix later!
