In case you missed it, here’s a look back at what our community accomplished during Love the Boot Week 2026. ♻️

More than 40 groups including over 500 individuals came together to clean neighborhoods, parks, and public spaces across Alexandria. Together, volunteers collected over 32,000 pounds of litter and helped distribute more than 400 trees throughout the community.

Thank you to every volunteer, organization, business, and community partner who made this year's Love the Boot Week a success. Your hard work helps create a cleaner and greener Alexandria for everyone.

Littering impacts all of us, but reporting it can help make a difference.

If you witness litter being thrown from a vehicle, you can report it by calling 855-LA-LITTER with the vehicle’s license plate number along with the make and model of the car.

Help us keep Louisiana clean by speaking up when you see littering happen.

Congratulations to all of the schools that participated in and were recognized at Glass Act Recycling's Fourth Annual School Glass Drive Awards Ceremony! 🏆♻️

This year, 27 schools came together to help divert an incredible 5,883 pounds of glass from local landfills through their collection efforts. It’s always inspiring to see students, educators, and community organizations work together to make a real environmental impact right here in Alexandria.

Thank you to all of this year’s participating schools, students, educators, and organizers for helping keep our community cleaner and more sustainable for the future. 💚

Earth Day brings together over a billion people worldwide each year to support environmental protection. This year’s theme, “Our Power, Our Planet,” reminds us that even small actions can make a real impact. 💚 🌍

This past weekend at the Alexandria Zoo, we had the chance to connect with families and show how simple actions, like sorting waste and reducing litter, help protect the environment we all share. Thank you to everyone who stopped by and to the Alexandria Zoo for having us!
