Our Love Our Waterways volunteers heard the song and got to work. 🎶🧤

Even though our September cleanup may be over, the work isn't. See litter? Report it to 855-LA-LITTER and on the AlexConnects app 💙

🌊 Hynson Bayou Cleanup: Mission Accomplished! 🌊

What an incredible turnout for our first-ever Love Our Waterways event! Together, we pulled over 25 five-gallon buckets of trash, a shopping cart, traffic cones, and various other large items out of Hynson Bayou and the surrounding area.

A huge thank you to everyone who made this possible:

🏫Lt Governor Billy Nungesser
🏛️ Mayor Jacques Roy and the City of Alexandria, Louisiana - Government for their continued support of our programs.
❤️State Representative Ed Larvadain and Council Members Elizabeth Felter and Malcolm Larvadain for showing up and supporting our community hands-on.
🏛️ Central Louisiana Regional Chamber of Commerce
🤝 Milton with the SafeAlex team and the Alexandria Sanitation Department for their hands-on support
💚Lowe's, Keep Louisiana Beautiful, and Captivate Minds Marketing for their generous donations!

And of course, our amazing volunteers, none of this would have been possible without you!

This event was part of Love Our Waterways, Louisiana's first-ever month-long, statewide waterway and shoreline cleanup. Here's to keeping our local waterways clean for good!

Big thanks to the City of Alexandria, Louisiana - Government for partnering with us to put the official statewide litter hotline right on municipal vehicles across town! 🚛

Next time you spot one of these blue stickers, remember what it's there for: if you see someone littering, call 855-LA-LITTER and provide the vehicle and plate information. It's a simple way to hold litterers accountable and help keep our streets clean.

Save the number. Spread the word. Let's keep Alexandria beautiful together. 💙

Clean neighborhoods start at home. Grab a bag, grab the kids, and make it a family thing, every piece of litter picked up is one less piece in our streets, parks, and waterways.

Even small hands can make a big difference. 💙

🌍♻️ CleanAlex - Keep Alexandria Beautiful at City of Alexandria Summer Camp!

We had such a great time with the kids at City of Alexandria Summer Camp this week, teaching them why litter matters and what they can do about it!

Campers learned what actually happens to litter once it's tossed aside, how long different items take to break down (some longer than you'd think!), and simple ways they can help keep our community clean. Each camper even took a personalized pledge against littering!

The little ones also met Rocksy the Raccoon in a fun educational video and took home activity books to keep the lessons going.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this possible, including the City of Alexandria, Louisiana - Government and Central Louisiana Regional Chamber of Commerce, for supporting our mission to Keep Alexandria Beautiful! 🏙️
