Do you know why we wear pink?

The pink ribbon became a symbol of breast cancer awareness in the 1990s, building on earlier efforts to use ribbons as a way to bring attention to important causes. The color pink was chosen because it was traditionally associated with femininity, compassion, care, and the strength of women.

Over time, the pink ribbon grew into a worldwide symbol. Today, wearing pink is about more than a color. It represents support for those fighting breast cancer, hope for those going through treatment, remembrance for those we’ve lost, and a commitment to early detection.

The Rapides Foundation is seeking a full-time Programs Coordinator for Community Development Works (CDW), a program of The Rapides Foundation.
In this role, you’ll help strengthen nonprofit and community organizations throughout Central Louisiana by coordinating leadership development programs, facilitating training opportunities, connecting organizations with resources and providing support to help them grow and increase their impact.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in a related field, at least five years of relevant program coordination experience, strong relationship-building and communication skills, and a passion for helping nonprofit organizations succeed.
