⚾️ We are so thankful to Perfect Game CENLA for hosting Athletes for Autism this year and inviting one of our ABLE League teams out to play. To say they had a blast is even an understatement. The smiles on our players faces, the faces of family members, friends and community members in the stands, is what its all about. Thank you to every parent, every player, and every by stander who cheered on our players as it truly added to the excitement and fun of the night!

🩵 Thank you for donating a portion of the proceeds to our foundation as they will be put to great use when constructing The Sensory Gym. If you ever wonder why we do what we do and why our drive to build a village is so strong, look at these pictures and it is just a glimpse of our purpose.

🌟 We look forward to what the future has in store and hopefully that means annual Athletes for Autism events.

⭐️ Owlet monitors 20 and 21 were donated yesterday to a sweet little set of twins. Having a medically complexed child affects the family as a whole, not just the individual.

In this basket we included items for siblings, bottle cleaning supplies, and a gift card for the family to enjoy an outing together.

When we say it takes a village, we mean it from the bottom of our hearts. We are happy and blessed to be a part of that village until the end of time. You are not alone. 🩵

“Laryngomalacia isn’t even a thing”

“Laryngomalacia doesn’t affect a lot of babies that’s why no one knows about it”

Common lies “medical professionals” will tell you. It affects more than HALF of the babies born world wide! Noisy breathing, apnea spells, turning blue, choking on feeds, failure to thrive, not gaining weight, sounding like they can’t breathe while they eat, and more! It’s so often mistaken or dismissed as “reflux” and passed on with no follow ups or therapy or any kind of assistance. All parents often get is “He’s fine, you’re just hearing stuff there’s nothing wrong.” And sent home with no help or guidance other than feeling like they failed their child when they know something is truly wrong.

I want ALL of the hospitals to send our pamphlets home when parents get discharged. I want to have free educational seminars for not only parents and caregivers but medical professionals, daycare workers, and more to educate them on Laryngomalacia. I want to show off these babies who have made great progress in feeding therapy and their weight has improved along with their symptoms. I want these parents to come and talk about their traumatic experiences when they were passed off or their positive experiences when someone finally listened to them and helped advocate for them and their child.

One day, our voice will be heard and we will stop dismissing parents and placing blame on them. One day we will stand up for these babies and their parents and others will know about this condition. One day, the world will be a more inclusive place for medically completed children and their families. They are not alone, no one is alone and everyone deserves to know that.

Timmy’s Toys and MB Therapy, Inc. are so excited to be a part of this FREE and informative event this Friday! Did we mention there will be free admission to the Treehouse Children's Museum during event hours? Bring your littles to play and learn about resources in our community focused on maternal and fetal health, during and after pregnancy!

Thankful for Cenla Playdates + Mom Breaks, Humana and The Treehouse Childrens Museum for this awesome opportunity for our community!

We couldn’t let today pass without recognizing a few of our bereaved mothers and making sure their babies names are remembered. Bereaved Mother’s Day looks different for all, some of us are mourning the babies we got to hold and enjoy for a little while, babies that met Jesus before meeting their parents earth side, and some babies that were longed for and prayed for but unfortunately never arrived.

Today isn’t just about child loss but it’s also for those who struggle with infertility and have prayed and longed for a baby and they are still getting those negative test after negative tests.

Our hearts are with all of you and your families. Praying for you and over you and that you know one day you will be reunited with your babies in Heaven. And for the mommy who always wanted to be, don’t worry you can love my baby when you get there and I’m sure these mommies will agree too. 🩷🩵
